It it totally adorable, but I hope your cousin released it, since Horned Toads can be very difficult lizards to care for properly. They only eat one thing, a particular species of Harvester ant, and will starve if they can't get that particular species of ant. They also have really strict UVB and UVA requirements and can be tough to meet. Very few reptile keepers try to keep these lizards. I'd wondered why you didn't see more of them offered for sale as pets, since they are so cute and seldom bite, until I checked with some long-time reptile breeders/dealers, and they told me it's almost impossible to keep these alive in captivity.

Oh yeah. This is the same cousin who gave me my dear Cinnabar (delighted squeal). He stopped keeping reptiles to raise goats and boxers, so he won't be taking in anymore reptiles, much less a VERY young, VERY endangered species of reptile. Oh yeah. He's the same cousin who gave me my dear Cinnabar (delighted squeel), so he won't be taking in anymore reptiles (he's keeping goats and breeding dogs now). And Horny toads are endangered, so it's to big of a risk one way or the other. pitbulllady

So... cute! ;D I like how you've put a hand in there, for scale, or I really wouldn't appreciate how tiny he is! I wonder how young he is? Do they grow much bigger?

Yeah, I'm guessing this little guy's roughly the size of a Goldfish(r) snack cracker ;D Hmm... I don't know exactly how big they get, but the largest one I've ever seen was about 5 inches long. I rescued the 5 inch one from the pool when I was a wee Spooky, and relesed it, and I'll tell you right now, thse gguys are so adorable when they walk XD
