Randall is FAR more wiser than Sullivan and Wazowski is....
Randall....grew up faster than most. One reason he doesn't remember his childhood much is because it was full of racism, sorrow, and well...you get the picture... He figured growing up faster would give him a better shot at not being over-taken. At first, yeah, it worked... Till Waternoose...

Randall may be SMART and INTELLIGENT, but he's not WISE, not by a long shot. Wisdom has little to do with intelligence, but with experience and how much one learns from the experience. Randall, in contrast, is very, very naive. In many ways, he still thinks like a kid. He's still holding onto that belief that if he has a fancy-schmancy title after his name, and a big desk, and makes a lot of money, that others will respect him, which isn't true. Knowing better is WISDOM. In his effort to "grow up faster", he stayed more like a child, and that is Randall's biggest weakness. He's still young, and regardless of his background, still has an awful lot to learn about life.

Well fine. But Sullivan and Wazowski certainly AREN'T.
Well....Randall grew up faster at first, till HE consider himself an adult, or at least got a job, which is what many adults have.
Your right. Randall does have allot to learn. And exile didn't need to be one of them. Still.... Randall is able to learn a few things others cannot....

In a way, Randall's personality isn't fully developed yet. There's several sides to him that we haven't seen- his true self, especially, since a lot of pain and suffering can change a person and make them bitter and resentful. If Randall had had a 'normal' life, he would be very different to the Randall we see in the movie.

Although it's very likely that Randall led a tough life even before working at MI, we won't be able to tell exactly what happened unless they do some kind of flashback thing in a sequel, if there's gonna be one.

Flashbacks...hmm. Like the kind of flashbacks where the person freezes, and there is a white light and there is a scene from his or her past life?
