They might want a sequel, but NOT one with Randall, NOT if he is portrayed even more negatively than in the movie, and there is no Waternoose-someone whom INTELLIGENT people will know is the REAL villain! Remember, many of these kids haven't actually seen the movie, or they say it long ago and forgot most of it(even many adults-"Funone" being a good case in point-seem to pay little attention to details or anything below the very "surface" of a film), so all they will know is that Randall is the mean monster who built this machine to hurt little kids.

And I guess it wouldn't be too much effort for Disney to come up with a new villain for the sequel. But I think that there are still some children out there who remember MI- I've seen new products with Mike and Sulley on them being released just before Christmas, for example, the Disney/Pixar version of Trivial Pursuit.

I'm just saying for rememberance factor Pitbulllady. It's been about four years since the first one, and remembering the movie, especial in older people, should lead to others wondering about a sequel.
Speaking of which, I remember they said they had some sort of sequel thing about the ride.

Speaking of which, I remember they said they had some sort of sequel thing about the ride. No, that was a rumor. The ride is basically a condensed version of the movie. It just leaves Waternoose completely out of the loop, so to speak, and puts the onus of blame purely on Randall. It's not a sequel at all, and there is no mention of a sequel in any of the reviews I've read. pitbulllady

Well... They say it's a sequel in time terms I see.... They say the "audience" are gonna be in the "sequel", meaning it's just a return of the orignal from a long time ago....

It makes sense-IF you can believe that Randall hatched this plan, and nearly carried it to fruition right there in the factory with no one knowing-and no one to cover for him. It just makes it seem that HE is the only one responsible for the Scream Extractor and the plot to kidnap children in order to top Sulley in the competition.

Pitbulllady's right Cool. The story could have gone on without Waternoose being brought in...
....You know....Waternoose IS a piece in Randall's innocence.... If Waternoose had not acted the way he did, revealing himself, it would leave one to question if Randall was the only one.

Hmm...Yeah, that's true. But though Randall obviously had motivation to make the SE, I think there would've been more motivation with Waternoose on his back. Also, would Randall have been able to build the SE without Waternoose noticing him, if Waternoose hadn't been part of the plot in the first place?

Perhaps. But the service pipes below M.I. had been abandoned since the jobs down there became....obsolete.
