...why I won't be typing very long answers to anybody in the next week or two, it's because I had an accident at work yesterday with an exact-o-knife. I was cutting open a box of lightbulbs and was cutting towards me (stupid, I know, but I'm paying for it now), and I suppose I must have jerked the knife too quickly, because I just had to drop the knife and run to the washroom. I was just going to get a bandaid, but when I saw how much it was bleeding, I ran to a tap. As I was washing my hand, I noticed my finger (index on the left hand) was bleeding heavily from the knuckle... and the nail bed. The nail was gone. ; I guess that must have shocked me, and my lightheadedness didn't help - I think I fainted/blacked out. I felt like I was asleep, you know? Because the next thing I remember is leaning against someone, and this random customer was bandaging up my hand (she told me she was in the military). I didn't even get her name, but she was so nice. The managers ended up calling the paramedics to look at me, and my parents. My dad took me to the hospital, where they stiched up my knuckle and re-bandaged my finger. I really don't want to look at it without the bandage, you know? The doctor says that the nail will probably grow in okay after several months. So my finger's like a claw (twice it's size with the bandage), so it takes me forever to type - these paragraphs took me nearly fifteen minutes. So that's why my answers to stuff will probably be shorter than usual for a little while. *nods*

Oooh...that really sounds painful! Sounds like something I'd do. I really feel your pain, Beboots, and I wish for you a fast recovery!

Owch. Even the idea of the nail coming off...*shudders* I hope it gets better soon!
And yeah, that's one advantage if your nail comes off- it does eventually grow back, so at least there's no permanent damage, though it still must've hurt a lot!

Thanks for your sympathy, guys. I only hope that my teachers take pity on me and give me less homework, you know?

Yeah, hope that you don't have any of those 'no excuses- I don't care if you've just been run over by Mr T in a bulldozer; you're gonna do the homework!' type teachers.

No luck - I got homework in every class today. Lucky I have a spare period tomorrow, perhaps I can finish some of the reading assignments then...

See. School sucks. It doesn't help at all. I've been taking pills for a week and I haven't gotten rid of this cold cough. The school is what makes me sick...thanks to those cold rooms...

It's the opposite here- it's been too hot and humid, so it makes working hard, and the sudden workload is quite shocking, since this is a 'major year' so all the work we do is important, etc. Our teachers love laying the pressure on.

It's the way the world works, unfortunately for us students.
