I just wondered...
Have any of you ever played the Nintendo Game Boy Advance version of 'Monsters, Inc.'. I've beaten the entire game in 'EASY' mode. The mildly bizzare thing about it is that in the story adaptation of the game, Randall Boggs shreds Boo's door and scatters the pieces throughout other places in Monstropolis. That's basically the premise of the story as far as the game goes. Obviously, some creative liberties were taken for the game, as this is something Randall never did in the official canon of the movie.
I know there's the Nintendo Gamecube version of 'Monsters, Inc.', but I must say that I haven't played it. What's it like? And what kind of role does Randall have in it?

Technically this should be in Video Games, but ehh, technically could be here too. And think I topic-ed this already...If it needs moving, I'll figure it out later. Anyway, on to the games!
Lets see...I have the GBA one around...somewhere. Haven't played it, but seen vids of the Japanese version (which is suppose to be for any version really) Now, I DID mention Randall's role in that game in the video game section and...check again, yep it's that one. I'm surprised you don't mention Randall's first boss fight, having beaten the game... If I recall, Randall is faced twice. For his final boss appearance, he has CDA BACKING HIM UP. But his FIRST fight is the most interesting. First off, he's BLUE. He uses his blending ability as a sort of "warp"...but the most bizarre thing...is that Randall summons ICE in the battle.
The Gamecube game is "Scream Arena". It is essentially a party-game involving dodgeball with some unique ball types like "slime" and "disco" (heh). It's ok...but for any Randall fan, it had the one thing that wasn't around at the time. That Randall...was PLAYABLE. Yep, Randall is playable from the start and, quite honestly, has the best stats. Beat the entire game with him alone. He's on the back of the game box with an actual smile on his face, like he's having fun. As far as story-line, there isn't too much, the dodgeball game is a way to get laughs. So, effectively, it's placed AFTER MI. There's some grain to take with it, as Boo is not much older than she was...and Randall is untouched from injuries (which he wouldn't be)...but it shows that Randall is back, and better than he was before. Several of the ball types show him in some pretty hilarious and funny personal stances which are neat to see. Overall, it's an ok game. Won't win any rewards, but Randall is playable for once, so it wins that.
Scare Island, for the PS, had Randall as well, but not playable. Here, he was a verteran scarer and part of the training team FOR WAZOWSKI AND SULLIVAN. He typically spends his time jogging around the hub area outside the orientation center (hit him and he scuttles a fair distance on all eights heheh). He's mostly self-confident ("you ready to challenge me?"), but not demeaning in any way. As said, his purpose is to challenge the new recruits given his experience. He's only encountered ONCE in an actual game area...wherein you try to climb up this area that has fallen barrels or something, and you come near the top to see it was Randall who was doing it, but he disappears before you get to him. Some might say this is aggressive...but no, it's kind of part of the training to think on your feet. Considering this was the only time you see him, he didn't make it a habit. Most interaction with him is through three or so racing stages. Simple enough, just have to beat him to the end. On the last, he takes a heaad-start. Some might say cheating, but it's already established that a scarer needs to think on their feet, and that Randall's no cheater, so it's part of the training for the unexpected. That's...pretty much it I think.
Monsters Inc. the game for the PS2 has Randall more briefly. He's in the open stage at MI, having turned off the main power (for some reason) and mulls about in the control room. You don't actually see him for awhile, BUT you can see graffiti in the city levels that shows Randall advertizing for some sort of product (think it was some food/chocolate bar). This sorta hints at his Top Scarer days, when he use to advertize for stuff. Later, your chasing him through the door vault near the end to get Boo, but he leaves. Then the final stage...oh man....ok, set the scene. It's like in the refinery, where scream is turned into electricity or something. The place is dome-shaped, with a smaller dome in the middle. The smaller dome has Boo and Waternoose inside, which is where you need to get. To do that, you need to shut down the shield around the dome...to do THAT, you need to get up to the top of the room to shut it down. (Interesting mention, this game also includes CDA robots, little Y shaped things that roll along the ground) Where's Randall? He's at the top...he's going around the rim of the room, stomping down on these peddles that shoot spherical scream containers at the smaller dome where Waternoose is. Why? So Waternoose can SHOOT A CANNON of concentrated scream energy at you (which looks like a minature sun). (There are lines I barely remember with Randall saying something and Sullivan replying "You've never beaten me before Randall, and you ain't going to start now" or something very like that, I know the "never beaten me before" was definitely part of it. What a pusher eh?) Once you get to the top, Randall say's something about Sullivan never...beating him or something, and then leaves. That's right, he leaves the area through the door Sullivan came through. No confrontation at all. (Oh yes, side note...somebody was actually working on modifying the game a little so that you could play as Randall, using the model that's in the game. Vids are on youtube.)
There is also...Pinball Panic, obvious to what it is. Mentioned elsewhere, sure, but this game is mainly pinball surrounding MI. Quite entertaining. Randall is the star of some impressive opening animation and boasts himself as quite the pinball player (having the highest score. Wazowski, if I recall, is ranked below him). The game is essentially to beat his high score. Over time, through moves or just plain time itself, Randall starts speaking out. He'll be remarking on impressive moves, giving encouragement, or noting when a bonus comes up (such as sushi bonuses). Opening aside, Randall is mainly a voice here...but that's enough. Next to all his comments are of being impressed and offering encouragement to the player, far from what one would expect in his later years. Like other games, a pinball machine would be in MI's Wreck Room (which also has it's own game). Once could speculate the game would be around the time of Randall's Top Scarer days, when he was more relaxed and prone to actually taking a break once and awhile to have a little fun.
Then there's Scream Team Training for PC, which involves a lot of mini-games around Monsters Inc., such as the lunch room, parking lot, daycare center, etc. What I can recall, is a scream canister game that's sorta like...I guess sorta like some kind of tetris. Anyway, Roz informs the player of what to do, that Randall will drop canisters (which is funny, he shows up on the screen up there and gives a little wave if i recall) and it's up to you to order them. So that's what it is. Randall's the one who pushes the scream canisters out for you and you handle the storage. There's also the Door Vault one which has you chasing after Boo while avoiding socks. Randall's in it, of course, and have to find Boo before he does. Get hit with a sock and the CDA are after you....apparently the same thing happens if Randall gets hit by one, but don't recall what actually happens.
That's all I can remember off the top of my head. There is, of course, Disney Infinity, and I've covered most of that in the Video Games section. Also, I THINK that all the MI games...Steve Buscemi may have been the only actual voice caster to consistently voice Randall in the games, more so than Crystal and Goodman (may have been the only one to do so in fact).
