Hello...
I am curious if anyone has ever put together an official online petition to Disney/Pixar for Randall Boggs' redemption? I believe the site for that is something like www.petitions.com...
...anyway, If one hasn't been created, I think it would be VERY helpful if there was one out there. Once created, a link attachment could be posted somewhere on the Randall Boggs fan site or somewhere for Randall's fans to sign. Like other movie-related petitions I have seen, I think it should have a picture of Randall (preferably from 'Monsters University') and should say "Randall needs your help!", or something, and contain a strong, solid argument showing all the reasons throughout the first two 'Monsters' films why Randall is NOT a villain, but just a misunderstood victim of tragic circumstance in DESPERATE need of a final resolution on the silver screen.
Given my present circumstances, I personally am not at liberty to create such a petition myself, but if one was out there, I'd definitely sign it! Is a 'Redeem Randall Boggs in Monsters 3' online petition a possibility?

Yes, we actually DID do that, right here, matter of fact, long, long before there were even any rumors of a sequel/prequel. We collected several hundred signatures here and on a fan site that no longer exists, "Randall Fans United", and mailed them to Pixar. We have been very vocal on this site and on Pixar Planet's forum, where it's been rumored that several Pixarians actually are members or at least frequent lurkers(though they cannot identify themselves as such). It certainly has not been a secret that Randall has a large and devoted fan base who wants to see him redeemed, and I think that MU is a step in the right direction, that it indicates we have been heard, at least. Pixar could have easily left Randall out completely and it would not have changed the story at all, OR they could have portrayed him as his haters have portrayed him, as someone who was evil from the very start, a bully who made Mike and Sulley's existence miserable even way back in college, and there would have been a lot of MI fans who would have totally bought into that. But that's not the route that Pixar chose, and I sincerely hope that by showing Randall as a likeable(to most people, anyway, save for Tumblr)guy to begin with, that Pixar plans to bring that story full-circle.
