All righty board members, it's been quite awhile, but while watching Ginga Nagareboshi Gin on YouTube, I had a thought. What would the monsters look like as dogs? I got...eh...three breeds written down. Randall-Weimaraner or Pitbull...can't decide. Sulley-Alano Espanol Mike- Celia-Finish Spitz Waternoose- Fungus- Boo- Other monsters-Other random dog breeds. Any thoughts or ideas for other breeds?

Randall would definately be an American Pit Bull Terrier, much-maligned just for being what they are, whether or not they actually do anything wrong, just as he is. Plus, that breed actually originated in Ireland, as did the Boggs clan. Randall would probably be a lean, game-bred red-nose APBT, with those green eyes. Sulley seems more like a St. Bernard-big, heavily-built, shaggy-coated, looks friendly and loveable-but there's that "Cujo" aspect for a darker side. Celia Mae is a pretty tough chick who is concerned with appearances, maybe a Finish Spitz or American Eskimo? Fungus would have to be one of the yappy dogs that bark constantly just to hear the sound of their own voices, but he's also very smart and hyper, so a Border Collie would most fit him. Waternoose is old, from a distinguished old(and RICH)family, has those pendulous jowls, seems kind and mellow, but can be very ferocious when someone gets on his bad side, so he'd have to be either an English or Neopolitian Mastiff. Boo would most likely be one of those cutely little fluff-ball breeds, like a Pomeranian. Mike wants so very much to be bigger and badder than he ever will be; he's like a Randall wannabe, actually, but he's all mouth and no ***. I wouldn't even dignify Mike with being a purebred anything; he's like the scruffy mutt who growls and barks and acts all tough and bad when its owner is around, or when there is a fence between it and the perceived threat, but as soon as the perceived threat opens the gate, or the owner goes inside, all that courage vanishes in an instant and it high-tails it for the safety of the dog house! Poor George, getting that awful haircut that just doesn't go with his personality at all-he'd probably be a Standard Poodle, a working/hunting/guarding breed that must often suffer the indignity of being coifed to look like some prissy ornament. That big dude with all the eyes that have to be put in place reminds me of a English Bulldog or Bullmastiff, and Pete, aka "Claws", reminds me a typical Doberman-fierce in appearance and reputation, but really a softy who is easily frightened, given how he reacted to the six-year-old girl trying to touch him! Jerry is like a German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois-all work and business, knows how to organize. Roz is more like an Akita or a Chow-keeps to herself, suspicious, no-nonsense, and tough as nails.

I think I see Mike as a mutt with some Corgi or dachshund in him. Small and entertaining, but cowardly and often annoying, as you say, PBL.
Sulley, I think, is a Pyrenean Mountain Dog- They're huge, and I mean HUGE, with shaggy white coats, rather stubborn, but generally quiet and very gentle. Beautiful creatures really. My friend has one and it's like a walking table.
Randall... I sorta pictured him as a Doberman, just because they're so elegant, but a Pitbull probably is, indeed, more appropriate.
Celia... Maybe a Papillon? They're show dogs, so named for their butterfly-shaped ears. Quite pretty, and with plenty of attitude. Perhaps a bit too small, maybe.
I think Boo is a Golden Retriever puppy. They're small as pups, but they grow up to be medium-sized, and they're so playful and cute. Or maybe a Black Lab pup, simply because of the dark fur and gorgeous brown eyes.
PBL's absolutely right that Waternoose must be a Mastiff. Fungus might be a terrier of some kind- smartest dogs around, but tiny and not always brave.

Oh yeah, I forgot about two other characters. Needleman and Smitty. Needleman, with his skinny build and loud mouth, would be either a Miniature Pinscher or an Italian Greyhound, while Smitty, who literally drags himself across the floor, is heavily-built and slow, as well as not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, would have to be a Bassett Hound. pitbulllady

All right, here are some bios:
Randall-An American Pitbull Terrier who lived with a loving human family. His favorite past time was going out with his human in the woods and holding down wild animals until his human came and also spending time with the family human kids. His favorite kid is the 4 year old male child. He doesn't remember any other dog family members when he was a puppy. One night, two other humans came into the backyard and lead him into a truck where he was then taken to a run down shed. In the shed were a lot of pitbulls and a huge pit. The humans began training him to fight other pitbulls. After a few weeks, he escaped into the forest and met a pack of wild dogs. His main rivals are a huge St. Bernard named Sullivan aka Sulley, and a runty annoying mongrel named Mike. Randall is determined to get back home to find his human family.
Hey PBL, if you find any mistakes or such, just inform me.
