I´m not really sure if it´s okay to put this here, but today, my sister was drawing a few pictures of Randall, and then she stopped and asked me, ¨Is Waternoose an animal abuser?¨ I never thought about that, but I guess he could be an animal abuser. Does anyone else thinks so?

Why would you think of Waternoose as an animal abuser? I don't consider Randall to be an animal, except in the purely biological sense, just like we humans are animals, biologically speaking, but a person. Now, I guess if you're thinking of BOO as an animal, which WAS how most monsters seemed to think of us humans, then yeah, I can see your point. It WAS Waternoose's idea, after all, to have the Scream Extractor built, and to kidnap human children and use the machine to forcefully take their screams, even if it killed them. Just how much Randall agreed or disagreed with this philosophy, it's hard to say. He had no choice but to go along with it, at least on the "surface". It's really not possible to judge how Waternoose would have treated other animals, such as dogs or rabbits(or the Monster World equivalent thereof), based on his treatment of human children or other monsters. Adolph Hitler, arguably one of the few people that the majority of the world, myself included, would consider truelly Evil, was a staunch advocate of Animal Rights, one of the first, yet he thought nothing of torturing and putting to death hundreds of thousands of human beings. Henry J. Waternoose thought nothing of sending fellow monsters to their deaths, or using them for his own gains, but he could very well have put the care and treatment of animals, at least certain kinds, above that of other monsters.

Well it wasn't really Waternoose's idea, certainly not Randall's but....oops...nevermind heh heh...
Anyway. Randall's views on "human-animals" is different than most monsters. He DOES know of their intellegence, but tends to hide his own philosophy bend the popular one, as not to rise any....rashional disagreement. Heck, his own race alone knows more than the others....
Anyway. To Waternoose. Practically, the earliest Waternoose, Floyd, was particularly a rich investor at Monsters Inc., back then it was called Monsters Ltd. Who actually came up with Monsters in the first place is something I won't disclose yet, but regardless, Floyd at first lived apart from his investment. He tended to bask in his flourish establishment of riches and proud holdings. He also had a keen liking of exotic animals. He liked them, but didn't take up the responsibilities for such, he let his servants take care of that. Then again he did consider reptiles not to be too far from animals. Simply, Waternooses abuse any and all who they think are lower than them. Simply....everyone....

It's like, I think it was, Galileo, who was hung because he said that the earth wasn't the centre of the universe- if Randall had told others what he believed concerning humans, he would've been ultimately punished. ;D

Thought I made that clear..."

If Randall thought he was an outsider anyway, it would be worse if he had voiced his opinion.

I think Waternoose - as an animal abuser - hmm...
Remember that scene where Boo runs to him? I thought that was just so cute. That's what I would have done if his true colours were not shown. Just looking at the way he held her, he looked almost gentle. Whether it was an act or not, perhaps some compassion seeped through.

I don't think he was showing compassion so much as trying to hide the real nature of his plot from Mike and Sulley. He realized that they were on to the plan, and that they had the kid everyone was looking for, and therefore, they had to be disposed of. By faking concern over the child, and faking compassion and gentleness, he was able to convince them that he was going to call her door up and put her safely back through it, making it easier for him to exile them into the Himalayas. He was just using her, like he used everyone else, for his own gains. Randall showed far more compassion when he was carrying her through the door vault, since he had already lost pretty much everything, and had nothing to gain by keeping her alive, especially when he'd been ORDERED to kill Boo, too.

Yeah, he had nothing to gain out of doing that- rather the opposite, I guess, since putting Boo back into her room would be more hassle than just killing her because he'd have to find her door, pretend that he'd killed her to Waternoose, and so on. It was that action in itself that showed how much heart Randall has.

"Well actually I did save her too and well...."
.....Either way....it was questionable whether he would have saved her or not..... Remember....Waternoose planned to sell them ALL out for his own hide...

But Randall DID save her- he thought he had got rid of Mike and Sulley, and held Boo in his arms, hanging onto a door. He could've just dropped her to her death there and then, but he didn't. And, on the one occassion when SULLEY was about to drop her, Randall caught her.

Funny how all the Randall-haters on IMDb don't remember that part, isn't it? Or, as many have tried(unsuccessfully, I might add)to argue, Randall was simply taking her back to test the Scream Extractor. When I point out to them that Sulley had just DESTROYED the Scream Extractor, they're like "uhhh....I mean....uhmmm...well, YOU know, he was like gonna....uhhhh...you KNOW..."! Pathetic.
