thepixardaily.blogspot.com/2013/08/mu-blu-ray-and-bonus-features-and-cars.htmlSounds like there's a lot more about the Pixar crew who worked on the film than of the characters or the movie itself, though. There will be four "deleted scenes" which sound interesting, however, and it's still possible that there's some stuff that was not mentioned that will be on at least the Ultimate Collectors Edition, which is four discs. Earlier today, there was a mention of a MU animated short, Party Central, appearing on the DVD/Blu-Ray, but John Lasseter stated after that rumor came out that Party Central would, in fact, be a short film shown before The Good Dinosaur in theaters next summer. While the title is no doubt a reference to Scott's referring to his mom's living room as "party central" when Mike and Sulley show up at the house in MU, I don't know if it will actually take place during the MU timeline, while they were still at college, or perhaps as a reunion afterwards, now that they're adults, or who will be in it. It might be just the OK guys, or most of the major characters, ROR's included. I could definitely see Johnny and Co. crashing a party at the Squibble household and something hilarious happening, like maybe the OK fellas not actually BEING there, and Mrs. Squibbles thinking they're a lawn maintenance/home repair crew or something. pitbulllady

I hope they throw something in about actually animating Randy in the extras. I would love to see the character model.
Squibble party.. sounds like a lot of fun

Here is a brief synopsis of the animated short, Party Central, via Pixartimes.com: Mike and Sulley are back at Monsters University for a fun-filled weekend with their Oozma Kappa fraternity brothers. The gang is throwing their first party, but no one’s showing up. Luckily for them, Mike and Sulley have come up with a plan to make sure “Party Central” is the most epic party the school has ever seen.I'm not really clear if this is supposed to take place while they were still at MU, still in OK, or if it's present-day, a reunion of sorts. Mike planning a party though makes me want to dust off my "bee-atch slapper", since NOW he decides he wants to party after all, now that he's found some buddies he considers good enough to go to parties with, but his former roommate apparently didn't make the grade and wasn't worth closing the textbooks for. EDIT/UPDATE-Just found THIS description of the plot for Party Central: The short is directed by Kelsey Mann, story supervisor on Monsters University. The short shows what happens when no one shows up to OK’s party. They solve this problem by using door stations to steal from the bigger party of the year, which is also going on at another frat. They must steal the food, the music, the monsters and the fun, but must do so by going through another human house and in through another closet door. Looks like it's going to take place during their college years after all, and I don't think that it will be too difficult to figure out who the other frat hosting "party of the year" will be, lol. Found that here, btw: www.slashfilm.com/disney-debuts-monsters-u-short-party-central-at-d23/pitbulllady

It's totally PNK they are stealing from, isn't it? LOL, well now, it DID say that it was a fraternity that OK was stealing from, so I think that kinda does rule PNK out. I don't think that Carrie and the girls would take too kindly to being called a "frat", and given how some of those chicks react to being aggravated, Naomi especially, I really wouldn't push my luck with that, just sayin'. You can bet that they'll be at this epic "party of the year", though, so they'll be involved, one way or the other. pitbulllady

It's totally PNK they are stealing from, isn't it? I KNEW IT! I knew PNK was not a sorority, but a fraternity of brothers in drag!

- Whine about no one showing up.
- Literally steal stuff from others to have your way.
- PROFIT.
I can imagine that the whole "going through a human house" part will be pretty hilarious, but other than that... Go home Pixar, you're drunk! LOL

I can imagine that the whole "going through a human house" part will be pretty hilarious, but other than that... Go home Pixar, you're drunk! LOL What a perfect message to send to the kiddies! I know, right? But it's MIKE AND SULLEY who are planning this, so it's FINE. They are Big Damn Heroes, who can do no wrong, remember? They wind up throwing another monster into the Human World to DIE, but that's funny, isn't it, because they're such wonderful guys! That's what I've been saying all along, that one Pixar decides you're a hero, you can literally get by with anything. I hope it blows up in their faces, big-time, like with Johnny and the ROR guys and the JOX(ESPECIALLY the JOX)just showing up at the OK party and trashing the place, and getting Mike's crew in big trouble with Mrs. Squibbles, but that probably won't happen. She'll probably be partying right along with 'em. pitbulllady

Is it just me, or is the door technology being explored a lot in MU and the upcoming short? I mean we know now that you can turn doors on from the human world, and this short basically explores transiting the human world.
It would be awesome if they managed to utilize this in another Monster movie...*WINK WINK, NUDGE NUDGE*

I DO hope this is an indicator of things to come with regards to a certain monster being able to find his way back home...IF he wants to, that is. What would be even better, imo, is for Randall to have somehow found happiness in the Human World, given that he really doesn't have anything back in the Monster World, after all, no friends, probably no family(unless Pixar decides to make Rex canon), all his personal belongings will have been taken by his creditors and the state, everyone hates him. If he could make a new start in the Human World, at least he won't have to battle against his own reputation, and it would be great if he can find that respect and admiration that has eluded him back home by using that door technology and Scream energy collecting technology to find a way to help us solve our own energy crises. Anyone remember that Scream collecting thing at one of the Disney parks(think it was in France)where kids could come up and scream into a microphone? How about something strategically placed on roller coasters at amusement parks? The realization that humans will often scream voluntarily without having to be terrified could prove as ground-breaking as the discovery of Laugh energy. There would be a certain irony, along with a really good message, for Randall to finally achieve success in a place he least expected to do so. pitbulllady

For me personally Randall really needs to return to the monster world and resolve things with Mike and Sulley, that's the only way he can be redeemed in any sense of the word, if that's the way Pixar intends to go. Even if it seems like there is nothing back in the Monster World for him, I can't see how he would stay willingly in the human world either. But then I'm one of those people who is also not keen on him befriending humans (although I guess it's different if the human is Boo), and choosing to live amongst them feels...er, wrong(?) to me. Also on the subject of an intended sequel, I remember reading that article a while back, but now I feel unsure that they'll ever do an actual Monsters sequel. I'm worried that maybe the intended "long line of monsters films" is just a reference to short films, and nothing feature length...I really hope I'm wrong about it though!

Saw this today on Pixartimes.com, an update on Party Central, confirming that it will NOT be on the MU DVD/Blu-Ray, but will be shown before The Good Dinosaur in theaters next year.
If you are into avoiding even the smallest details of upcoming films, you may want to stop reading here.
In the short, directed by Kelsey Mann (story supervisor on Monsters University), Mike and Sulley return to Monsters University to help their friends of Oozma Kappa liven up their frat party. The whole gang is back for this one including Terry and Terri, Squishy, Art and Squishy’s Mom, Sherry. With the help of a few portal doors, the group manages to trick, sneak and steal another party into theirs. Transporting the festivities through a room with two closet doors and past a sleeping couple, the simple set-up reaches comedic heights. It builds and maintains a manic energy that we didn’t see in the feature film. In many ways, it feels like an extended scene cut from the original. The thing zips by and before you can catch your breath, it’s over.
It does appear that this timeline will be AFTER MU, after Sulley and Mike have gone to work at MI, but while their OK brothers are still in college. It says "the whole gang" will be back, but not sure how this will involve all the ROR guys since a lot of them, Johnny and Javier included, were seniors and would have graduated shortly after the Scare Games, unless it was an end-of-year party just prior to graduation, which would have been right after M&S got that first job in the mail room at MI. I guess this will answer once and for all the question(s) of whether Randall was kicked out of ROR or stayed in, or for that matter, if he remained at MU, period. I'm pretty sure that ROR will be involved in some incarnation or another, though. Surely, though, there's gonna be an animated short on the DVD, I HOPE.
