Oh my gosh.... I'm so glad to hear that it showed Randall getting kicked out. Cause I was soooo disappointed with how his character was in the movie. It felt like so many parts with Randall got cut. How does he get ROR's attention to join ROR?! Does he nervously run into that Johnny guy and turn invisible showing Johnny that he has a unique power?! And DOES he get kicked out by Johnny fueling his anger even more?! And what about Mike?! In the movie when ROR is bullying Mike and OK not ONCE did Mike call out to "Randy", and ask... "Why Randy... why are you helping them make fun of us, or betray me?!" or something... He just focuses on OK most of the time. 3 months ago I was expecting to see a scene where Randy gets so humiliated (for being his sweet nerdy self) and bullied that he completely snaps and cries or something... that's what I've also noticed with Pixar... they never make their characters cry... except for Merida in Brave (is it b/c she's a girl -_-) and Marlin (justified his wife and kids died).... I just wish that they explored his character more. Sure it would make us feel sorry for him, but hey... it was their idea in the first place to make a sequel... and even more their idea to make him a sweet nerd. If they weren't gonna show him much in this movie why make him sweet at all?! Just keep the nerd part and make him a starscream to Johnny..... but then...... I would miss seeing Randall act all cute in the movie.... but seriously.... I hope they have deleted scenes in the movie that have to deal with Randall's moments b/c in the movie there just wasn't ENOUGH of him. They basically wasted a good character plot. I thought they were gonna(ror) try to use Randall's invisibility to cheat or steal or something illegal that would get him humiliated and introuble... AAAND kicked out of the college, but even THEY don't do that! So Randall's turning all evil doesn't make sense to me. It's a freudian excuse... it's like me being evil because I lost the singing competition to another girl, I mean it doesn't seem tragic enough! And that's a total disappointment. It made me grade the movie from an A- to a B. (bad movies don't make it on my grading list btw). .... Just ....come on Pixar! I don't even work for you and I KNOW what the fans want. Either way it's still a good movie. Better than Cars 2 and Brave I think. Yeah I totally agree. Randall was wasted in this film. Especially your point about why make him such a sweetie in the beginning if we're not going to get any real development afterward?! On the one hand I can understand it's Mike's story, and too much Randall would be a distraction, but no acknowledgement between the two was wasted, there were so many opportunities to do that!

Well, we did get a little bit of acknowledgement, but it was very subtle...like when the RORs are selling the merchandise and Johnny says something particularly nasty that gets everyone in the crowd laughing at OK, Randall is the only one who isn't laughing. He's not even smiling, and it looks like he wants to speak up, but he's too afraid. And later on, in another ROR/OK confrontation, Randall looks really sad, like he's trying to blink away tears. I wish we could have gotten a bit more than that, though...

Either way it's still a good movie. Better than Cars 2 and Brave I think. We don't actually SEE Randall being kicked out of ROR, and I think that is part of the problem with all the haters: they are so shallow that they cannot see "the big picture" or read what is between the lines. They cannot make inferences, only surface observations. If something is implied, but not openly shown or stated, it goes right over their heads, which is really disturbing when you are talking about a "G" rated movie, folks! Also, there's a tremendous amount of self-denial and hypocrisy that these people are putting out there, accusing someone else-Randall-of doing the EXACT same things that THEY do, but either they can't see their own actions or they justify THEIR actions(but anyone else doing the same thing is wrong and evil). They are denying who they themselves are and what they are capable of doing, living under their own little umbrella of self-righteousness. We don't see Johnny actually kick Randall out, but we never see Randall again. We DO see Johnny, later, offer Sulley a ROR jacket...so where did he get that jacket? Every member but ONE is present, wearing their jackets. Earlier, we saw Johnny pretty much do the same thing to Sulley, so we already know that's how he rolls. Throughout the movie, we see Randall express, through his body language, reactions and facial expressions, what appears to be fear or emotional discomfort when he's around Johnny, especially if Johnny actually speaks to him, so based on my prior experiences with people and their behavior, it's not unreasonable to infer that he's scared of Johnny, and ask yourself WHY. I seriously doubt that Randall approached ROR to ask to be in their fraternity. That's not him. He would have never, ever considered that they would be remotely interested in him; that would be like me calling up a top modeling agency and wanting to know if they'd hire me, lol. THEY approached HIM, for two reasons. One, the most obvious, was because they needed a sixth member to compete in the Scare Games, and since having to drop Sulley, they were short-staffed, so to speak. That member also had to meet two criteria: be a Scare major, AND get good grades, so we can infer that Randall's grades were impressive, unlike Sulley's. Now, Randall does NOT quite frankly meet JOHNNY'S personal criteria, for the same reasons that Mike didn't, and Mike is indeed the key. Johnny has seen enough of Mike and Randall together, studying, on campus and knows that they room together, so he's probably figured that Randall is Mike's only friend, which is true. Mike has had the gall to stand up to Johnny Worthington III repeatedly, publicly, AND rubbed his grades in Johnny's face, and Johnny is NOT going to stand for THAT! He has to get back at Mike somehow, and hurt him, without making it seem so obvious as actually beating him up or anything, so taking away his best friend, not allowing Randall to ever speak to Mike again, and actually forcing Randall to do things that will seem spiteful towards Mike, is the perfect means of retribution. Johnny senses, as does Waternoose later, what Randall's weakness is, and takes full advantage of it. Poor Randall THINKS that the ROR guys actually like him and recognize his merits and that being in with them, having their protection, will elevate his social status and provide him with that emotional and physical security that Mike had ultimately failed to provide. pitbulllady

I wish we could have gotten a bit more than that, though... On my second viewing of the movie, there were two young girls in front of me, about 8-9 years old, and one of them actually said, "why does that lizard guy look like he's about to cry" in that scene, and the other said, "well, DUH! He's had to leave his best friend!" Elementary aged school kids GOT IT. Randall WAS trying to blink back tears, or at least, get his emotions in check before Johnny noticed and said something. pitbulllady

If people STOPPED to think...it's obvious what happens to Randall, at least, initially, at the end of the Scare Games. If they REMEMBERED what happened to Sullivan, they would realize that Randall did NOT have his ROR jacket with him and that he was in the same "performance review" situation that Sullivan was (with the final exam). BUT, the stakes were higher, as ROR's reputation (and long-standing Scare Cup position) was on the line. The fact that Johnny "suddenly had" a jacket is the clincher. It is indeed Randall's, and we don't see him with them anymore.
It's people who bark about him being so evil and NOT noticing these simple things that is just disgraceful...
