Admins or mods should make some rules regarding spoilers and enforce them. I, for example, will see MU tomorrow (though I won't get to listen to Buscemi's performance until it hits Blu-rays later ). Still, it'd be great if I had an idea about what I can post here and what not.

That's why I wish that ProBoards had spoiler tags, so you can put the spoilers behind them and whatever is in there won't show up unless you click on it or highlight it, meaning that you WANT to see the spoilers. Some people, like myself, don't mind at all. Knowing what will happen just makes me that much more eager to see it for myself, but for other people, they feel like they might as well not even watch it once knowing what happens. It's going to be difficult to avoid spoilers in any case, though, since there will be a LOT more reviews coming out once the movie is released. I think that a good idea might be to use PM's to communicate spoilers to those who want them, as we have already done, but keep in mind this is just one place...and then there's Tumblr!

im really looking forward to the discussions about this movie lol especially the ones right after viewing isnt there someway to create a thread that wont show up in the 'recent posts' bit? id be so bummed to miss out on all of the excitement! edit: ive just had a thought! cant we make the text colour for these discussions the same colour as the forum background meaning that you can only see the post if you highlight the text? i know nothing about computers mind you so i dont actually know if that would work lol

I myself do not have the ability to create new sections for posting, although Lizard Girl does, so perhaps she can make a whole section, "MU Spoilers" or something, so anyone who does NOT want to read spoilers can simply stay out of that section, and anyone who's up for the spoilers, can go there. Once the movie has been in release in all parts of the world, that section can be locked and all conversations moved to the regular MU section once everyone has had a chance to have seen the movie, since we don't have actual spoiler tags.

Alrighty. PMs, naturally, are the way to go to prevent spoilers. A separate topic area is also a good idea.
Here's my addition, mainly for the later.
Randall is a shy, timid, courteous geek on the inside. Ok, not FULL on geek, as it just comes off that way and it's kind of an insult stereotype...so I just stick with the shy courteous bit.
Behold...Boggs Board's "spoiler tag" hm hm.
Granted, there have been a couple spoilers already, and the books practically tell a lot of the story. But yeah...EVEN on opening day...and even week(s) afterward, some people may not have seen the film. Seriously. People are either scrambling through summer issues or putting their money to that needed air conditioner since the other one broke down. It's not just a courtesy to the director, but also to those people. *shrugs* Thankfully we pretty much know the important bits involving Randall...but yes it's those little bits we DON'T see in pics/trailers/book bits that will be important too.

Keep in mind that opening day is not the same across the globe, and in most countries the movie opens several weeks after it opens here in the US and Canada. People in some countries will have to wait until August to see it! That's why we need a separate area for people who HAVE seen it to discuss it, rather than waiting two whole months before we can talk about it other than through PM's. Some boards, like IMDb, have a spoiler button you can click to put everything spoilerish so that you have to highlight it to see what it says. If you don't want to read the spoilers, just keep the cursor off of that script. A separate spoiler section would be even better; we did that on the Never Forgotten Foster's Home forum. pitbulllady

Well that was more to PBL...but guess she missed it too and it looked like a blank space...which is good, that's the effect it should give.

I sure did miss it! How did you do that? Did you just type in spoiler and /spoiler inside the brackets or what? On some boards you can do that and on others you just type in "sp".

You did 0_0 Well that explains it 0_0 Dang I'm good...
Actually it was pretty easy. I used the text color feature. Now nobody go crazy with it, the board's colorful enough heh...but I found a color close to the (nearly the same) background color of our posts. Simply put what was a "spoiler" under that color change and...presto. It appears to be part of the background. But, run over it, selecting the text, with your cruiser, and it's highlighted in white like everything else. Thankfully the color actually has a code you can enter in when your doing the color change, so can get it "right" every time.

Which code did you use, so that everyone else can use it? I saw how to change the font color, but I couldn't get the right one and it still shows up.

Had to recover it since it seemed like it didn't work (was unsure WHY it didn't). But here it is.
680f5e
This "tag color" will give us an essential "spoil tag" as it were, and seems easier than typing in spoiler tags (if they work. Simply write your text, highlight the spoilers, change them using the code I provided above, and there you go. Select "preview" (heck, just do it at the start, the changes are automatic in that mode), to see if you did it right.
Now I DO suggest we make a separate section, or at least thread, for spoilers in ADDITION to my spoiler tag color.

Yep, that worked! Now we're all set for the spoilers to begin!
