Not sure what book this is from, once again I just found this on tumblr. I thought it was so cool how this book describes Randy as "sweet-natured", it just shows the audience we were right the whole time and that by default Randall is a nice guy.

It's from the Essential Guide. I've had that for a while now, but due to it's overly-spoilish nature....

I think I'll get the book, rip the two pages out, frame them in an over-the-top victorian frame and watch all the visits go "DAFUQ?"

"or maybe they just love that they can't see him at all!" With friends like ROR, you don't need enemies...

"or maybe they just love that they can't see him at all!" With friends like ROR, you don't need enemies... I know, right? If you have read the Jr. Novelization, which really does not go into detail at all, it clearly shows how the guys in ROR are using Randall, and how they consider his ability to be something that exists for their own amusement. It's a big joke for them to make him "disappear". They're also using him to get back at Mike, to hurt Mike, by taking away his friend, and they use Randall to do something that makes Mike justifiably angry, which no doubt seals in Mike's mind that his pal Randy is now just like the rest of the ROR guys, so Mike just writes him off forever. It really was Mike, and not Randall, who decided to end that friendship and who started that rivalry, failing to realize that Randall was being forced to do a lot of things by Johnny. That look of fear, that "deer in the headlights" look, that Randall gives in the clip where Johnny slaps Chet is indicative enough of how afraid Randall is of the ROR leader, not just of getting kicked out and cast out of the "cool kids", but of being physically harmed if he refuses to obey. Mike, of course, can't-or WON'T-see that. pitbulllady

*blows breath* Seriously...these three are littered with misunderstandings. You totally hit that proverbial nail on the head yet again, RB! IF the three of them had simply taken some time to TALK, as people, not as Scarer, not as competitors, and realized what was really going on with each other, things probably would not have turned out so badly, at least not for Randall(and we know things didn't turn out badly for Mike and Sulley at all). Just like with Waternoose's plan, though, Randall can't really tell anyone what is going on in ROR because he's afraid of what Johnny will do to him, so he has to internalize all that fear. pitbulllady

*chuckles* It's what I do, and thanks for that...it's...encouraging...
Things, in the future, aren't ripe and good for Sullivan and Wazowski actually either. Sullivan is in a job position that is too demanding, and something he was NEVER trained for. He can be a people person (having worked his way up in MI), but that can only go so far. And there have been movie instances where we see "good people person" being in a situation that demands you choosing between being helpful, and being considerate to the needs of your career. Add in the fact that he WILL regret what he did to Randall (I'm playing with this in the sequel I'm working on, and it'll be quite interesting), and he's slowly driving toward a psychotic break.
Wazowski? Well he's denying things. "We did the right thing" "Who cares", etc. He's got something else he's focusing on that helps him ignore what happened. Not only is it Randall's fate he's ignoring, it's also Sullivan's ordeal. On the surface he doesn't "get" why Sullivan seems to care.
There's so much going about that it's just...wow...a fair look at how confusing the race in life can get. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World out there.
