I was watching the local news earlier, and they had a segment about cicadas, a kind of insect as I'm sure most people are aware.
During the news segment about them, they had a clip of 2 cicadas mating. For some reason, they pixel censored it. Not that I care to see the uncensored version, it's not like I necessarily care to see insects mating it's just that....why does it need to be censored? I mean, heaven forbid a child goes out into his/her backyard and happens to see some insects mating. Heaven forbid a child goes to the zoo and sees some animals breeding.
That's just why it seems ridiculous to me. Especially because it's insects, which are definitely not remotely close to humans at all unlike some animals which I can see them being more likely to censor. Cicadas though? Really?

Perhaps it was supposed to be sarcastic? Because that is a kind of thing I'd expect to see in a Monty Python sketch ;D If it was meant seriously, though... then these people are probably sicker than those who wouldn't censor it at all.
