I just found this picture of Disney Infinity Monsters University figures and you get a small gimps of Randall. I KNEW he was gonna be in it, it would make no sense to leave him out! Why does Pixar have to be so secretive with this guy, WHY!?! lol Website www.pixarpost.com/2013/04/disney-infinity-news-randall-boggs.htmlYou can see him here too.

*looks up*.....*points directly down at the next topic* That info's been around for awhile heh heh. So I'll move this over there in a moment, but for now, catching up.
Anyway, this material is new though, and at least makes it official that he IS playable. And, what's more, being on the box...it shows more things. One, Randall's popularity is so great he's bumped up to being ON the box and IN the first season of characters (I don't think he's packaged with the MU set (as I recall Sullivan and Wazowski were), but I dunno). So, regardless, this is awesome.

*chuckles* Don't worry, in your rush to show this, probably didn't see. It's alright, this is very good news...oh boy...it will be so awesome to play as Randall. Huh...I wonder...there are two panels for two figures...wonder if you can put the same figure in BOTH...
Yeah, that was the pic that was posted on the topic (actually it was larger too so people could find him themselves). BUT, the length made the topic go horizontal, so I just put in the link.

I know I know, I'll merge the topics when I get the chance, but first off... Seems amazon has some pre-orders for Infinite sets. And Randall's one of'em. Unfortunately he's been put in the "villains" pack, along with Davey Jones and Syndrome. Considering how his figure looks...seems it may be the older Randall that we'd play (BUT, lets not forget those power disc options remember). So...interesting to see his older self in MU...

I don't know, I also saw that and whoever posted that put Mrs. Syndrome. So maybe its not official. lol

Pfft...Mrs. Syndrome. Well still it's something. At the very least, he'll be in a pack in the first wave. We won't have to wait to grab him or he won't be some super-secret (as he seemed to be before with everyone hiding him hehe) super-rare one.

Yeah still, I'll wait until its 100% confirmed that he is in the villain pack, that Mrs. part just made it seem like that some guy on Amazon threw it on their. And even if he is, it's still sort of accurate, after all, he DOES become the Randall we know from MI at some point in MU, so technically "villain Randall" IS in MU.

Not...really. 10 years is a long time. It's more true in the other direction...that MU Randy is MI Randall...we just see seed planting, takes time for seeds to grow after all.
But put flatly, we all know he's not a villain so it's just naming. Actually it's an interesting way to put him in a set. Davey Jones was once a guider of souls who became corrupt so he's more...tragic. Syndrome, well we all know he was once a kid aiming to be a hero who got dismissed by his hero and became the actual syndrome. So he's actually in a rather tragic set which kind of fits.

Good point, ten years IS a long time. But who knows, it is a kids movie after all. Lets just hope Pixar sticks with realism. Yeah, he would fit in that sad group. lol

That's something that Pixar Planet members have argued. That it's a movie, a kid's movie, and that's just not true. What makes Pixar good at what they do is that they work WITH realism IN fantasy. I viewed their roundtable discussion on MI, and they weren't just saying "monsters scare kids so lets see that". No, WHY do they scare them? Why, for power. Power for who? A city, ok a city of monsters....etc. For the most part, they don't make kid's movies. It's animated films that entertain EVERYONE. And they do it well because they work with realism.
For Ran, it's not realistic that he'd hate Sullivan and Wazowski. Heck, he doesn't really in MI. It isn't till THEY get involved with things that he shows his frustration. Whatever happens to him is what cuts him off from other people. Maybe they were involved, maybe not. But 10 years along (at least 6, if whatever happens happens at the end of the college year, unsure if they'll flash through time or something). And in the end, what happens? He becomes a Scarer in the end. The Top Scarer. Sure, he's lacking other things, but it's something that would sustain him...
Yeah it's an interesting but accurate choice that one.
