Figured I'd just put my Randall stuff I've don't so far here. I did that back in summer of 2011. I'm pretty sure that was right before me, my sister and some friends went to Disney World that year. I actually remember looking for a Randall plush at Downtown Disney, I think, and couldn't find one. I think my sister ended up getting a Lotso, though. I just did this one the other day. Randall scaring a yet to be named OC of mine. I definitely like the way I did his scales better in this one. Just messing with some default photoshop brushes. And these are some other OC sketches. When I decided to make her, I had planned on her being a shark-like monster, but several other animals ended up getting mixed in, like an octopus, a red-tail boa, a dunkleosteus's teeth (don't know why it's automatically putting a space in 'dunkleasteus'), and I guess some kind of dinosaur for her hands and feet. I still haven't come up with a lot of background for her. After she became part octopus, I thought she might be able to change color similarly to Randall. Still not sure, though. Anyway, hopefully, I won't be too busy this next quarter to do some more.

Saw this on DA, and (sorry) my mind immediately saw the tentacle tail and "went there", as in "yeah I've seen enough Hentai to know where THAT is gonna lead", lol. Again, sorry. Couldn't help it, lol. She is a very interesting character, though, definitely monstrous, and pretty darn scary if you ask me, unlike most of the female MI OC's, who are either just female versions of Randall, or anthro versions of well-known furry Human World animals. She has a Grendel-esque quality that would be pretty disturbing to encounter under certain circumstances.
I'm curious, though, as to why you think that Randall would be so abusive towards this female monster. In the original movie, he pulls a prank on Mike, which Mike does not appreciate, but only gets physical when he believes that Mike and Sulley have captured "the kid" and will risk everything he's worked for over the past two years by using her against him. There was a long-established case of "bad blood" between them already, and Mike had never wasted an opportunity to torment Randall over his second-place position, so they were pretty much on equal terms insofar as animosity. That rivalry was personal, in other words. I can't see Randall just randomly targeting other employees for bullying/harassment, and I don't see him as a misogynist at all. What company is going to tolerate any employee who does that, especially female employees?

Lol! No it totally doesn't surprise me that one's mind would immediately go to hentai where tentacles are involved. I think anyone who's been in fandom for very long has that problem, me included.
As for Randall being abusive, that's not really the way I intended it to look. I see them as sort of bugging and pulling pranks on each other. I don't know, I've always sort of liked those types of relationships where they're always sort of messing with each other, and I could sort of see Randall maybe being that way with someone. Sure I could see them getting perturbed at each other sometimes, but nothing really malicious would happen. So in other words, she very well could have switched out one of the backgrounds images he uses to practice with something embarrassing only moments ago, and now he's getting back at her. Actually, I think this would require Randall to be a bit more light-hearted than he is during the film, so now that I think about it, I don't know that it's all that realistic anyway, at least not around the time-frame of the movie.
Anyways, their relationship (and a lot of things about her) still aren't very developed yet, so this was pretty much a quick idea. Honestly, I'm not so sure she's going to be a scarer herself. I had actually thought about her being a member of the CDA, but I'm still not sure. It's all pretty fluid right now.
Edit: Went back to where I had posted that on DA, and now I see where you were getting that he was being malicious from. When I used the word "tormented", I was using the term very very loosely. Guess that came out pretty unclear now that I look at it.

I like her, she's unique. Did you see my OC? I posted a topic too with her.
Anyway, based on the colour you gave your OC, for a minute there I thought she was totally naked....but I guess it's just her colouring. XD Although, I guess she is technically naked(but not in the same sense where humans are naked and you see stuff). lol. Since I guess she is more like Randall and some other monsters where by those parts are probably hidden under their skin most of the time. LOL.
I can definitely see where you got some shark inspiration....I can see it in her face mostly.
I don't think Randall looks abusive in the picture, personally.
To me he looks like he's touching that area of her neck that is kind of like tickling someone.....sometimes if my sister wants to annoy me she'll come up behind me and suddenly poke me on that part of the back of my neck. lol. Sometimes people do that to my back too....just come up behind me and quickly run their hand up/down my spine. It usually makes me freak out. LOL. Because it tickles and feels weird.
So that's kind of the impression I got from the picture.
And besides, if he's in a relationship with her....sometimes people like kind of rough or teasing sex and what not. I know some people who are pretty laid back but say that in their sex lives they like to be kind of aggressive.

So, it's more like a flirty sorta "messin' with" here, not mean-spirited. Anyway, she looks like if somebody DID mess with her and she didn't want to be messed with, she'd be quick to let 'em know, and they probably wouldn't do that twice! Nice design, not all cutesy and glamorous like most female OC's, a monster through and through. pitbulllady

Thanks, guys! mintygreen: Yeah, I saw your OC also. Pretty cool design. Almost like a cross between a dragon and a unicorn. Yeah, I was sort of going for a sort of off-white like some red-tailed boas are. Of course with different computer screens, the color could look different depending on how its calibrated. But, anyway, I'm not so sure they're actually a couple in that picture. They could be, I suppose. I was thinking this would be more a strange...not exactly love/hate friendship, but one where they just like to push each others' buttons. I don't know, I feel like my story keeps changing since I don't have it down pat yet. @pitbulllady: Well, it's more a surprised grimace, but yeah. Lol! I don't think any smart monster would want to really make her mad with those razors in her mouth. That was actually a problem I was having when designing her, I didn't want her to look too cute and innocent. I think the teeth alone helped a lot with that. I think they actually came out smaller than I intended in the colored pic too.

^ Thanks. XD Didn't really know she seemed like a unicorn....but I can see the dragon connection. Ah, I see that now. On DA, I'd never really noticed her expression...but now I can see the grin. So, it's more like a flirty sorta "messin' with" here, not mean-spirited. Nice design, not all cutesy and glamorous like most female OC's, a monster through and through. pitbulllady I think that a lot of female monster OC's.....well, it's just kind of hard to create a monster that still looks like she can be scary but at the same time is also still obviously a female character. I think it's harder than creating a male monster OC. I mean, if you think about the official monsters in MI/MU....do any of them really look all that scary? I don't think Celia looks that frightening, nor does Carrie or a lot of those girls we're seeing from MU....and then the ones that do look scarier, it's harder to tell that they're actually female. I think one example though is the dean of the school....she still comes across as being obviously female but also really scary. I just feel like it's much harder to create a believable female MI/MU monster than a male one. I guess the OC I made probably fits into your 'glamourous' description perhaps. LOL. Well I don't really know what you actually think of her but I can see why she might give off that vibe. Part of the problem might be that to some extent, I still wanted her to be slightly like myself, so she's thin and has blonde hair....witch might come across as a bit 'glamourous' for a female character(didn't make it curly like mine though....curly hair is unfortunately not the easiest thing). -_- I think that's why until now Pixar/Disney didn't even have curly haired characters....but finally they had the technology to do it well(with Merida).

The horns sort of seem unicorn like to me I guess, even thought there's two of them. Might also be the comparison someone made to Princess Luna/Nightmare Moon from My Little Pony as well (who is actually one of my favorite ponies).
But yes, that's what I was trying to balance out. I mean, it's not really inaccurate to have a cute monster in the MI world, there are plenty of them. And even a cute one could turn scary if you designed it right. Example: It could have a cute, small mouth, then open wide to gigantic teeth. I just tend to try not to make any of my OCs TOO pretty. It's just a personal preference for me.
And actually, my hair's pretty blond right now as well. I change the color so much, though, it doesn't really matter what color hair I give my OCs, chances are, it's probably been at least partially that color before. I have been giving most of them short hair, though. I try to shift the style around some for each one at least.

I have been giving most of them short hair, though. I try to shift the style around some for each one at least. Yeah true. XD I do like unicorns a lot though actually. Always have, even though I didn't have that in mind when designing her character....maybe it was just kind of subconsciously there because I really like unicorns? What's funny is that unicorns are the national animal of my boyfriend's country(Scotland). When I was a little kid there was a period of time in which I thought that maybe I used to be a unicorn(since I have this circular scar in the center of my forehead). It's not very obvious actually and I have to point it out to people in person if they want to see it...it's pretty old and faded. It's just since I saw the Last Unicorn movie when I was a little kid, and when she's transformed into a human she has a mark in the center of her forehead....that's pretty much why I ended up wondering if I used to be a unicorn due to the scar on my forehead. Kids are weird like that. XD lol. Anyway, yes I was thinking that too....like honestly I was thinking of my OC as a scarer and although she might not look that scary in the picture I posted of her, I was thinking that if I did a lot of various expressions of her and had her doing her 'scaring' face, you would see a lot of her teeth or something. There were also a lot of scarers in MI who had scaring props if you recall...like we saw them getting ready just before scaring and they would stick on extra eyes or put in fake sharp teeth, etc. So you can definitely ADD things to yourself to make yourself scarier, then take it off when you aren't scaring. What colour is your natural hair colour? I've actually never dyed my hair. It probably seems weird that I haven't though, since it seems like most women do it at some point. I just like my hair the way it is....blonde curly hair is quite recessive, not many people naturally have it, and it suits me, so I figure, why bother changing it? My hair wasn't always curly though....it actually just somehow became curly as I became an adult.

My hair's naturally dirty blond, but it hasn't been that color in several years, I don't think. I think it's been almost every natural color before and several unnatural ones. I think the only time I dyed it all an unnatural color, it was supposed to be "vampire red" and it turned out bright pink, which, even though I'm not a huge fan of pink, I sort of like it as a hair color. It mostly washed out pretty quickly after a couple of swims at a hotel pool right after I dyed it, though.
I'm actually thinking about getting a perm when my hair grows out a bit longer. It's been forever since I've even curled my hair. Of course, I never have long hair anymore, at least no longer than shoulder length, and it's much shorter than that right now.
