Umm...does this ever happen to you guys because it freaks me out whenever my eyes do this....happens about once or twice a year lately.
It will probably go away again in about half an hour...
It's hard for me to see what I'm typing.
Essentially what happens is I just get these flashes of colour that look like a kaleidoscope in the middle of my eyes. No this isn't from looking at a light for too long since I know what that's like and it's different and goes away in a few seconds. This lasts for about half an hour usually.
I have no idea why the heck this happens. I considered asking my eye doctor about it the last time I was there but it's so infrequent and always goes away so I didn't.
I normally have perfect vision and have never worn contacts or lenses.
EDIT:
They have cleared up again now and returned to normal but does this happen to anyone else?

Sounds kind of like what my mom has, which is a side effect of migraines. It might be a scintillating scotoma. She gets those from time to time. As far as I know I don't think it's serious, but might want to confirm that all the same.

That's interesting...since I really don't tend to get migraines or headaches much at all although I do have a bit of a headache right now(a pretty minor one though). I don't recall having a headache the other times that it's happened in the past though. There was one time when I had a job and while at that job I got headaches/migraines all the time....I think that place I worked was just really stressful although I never had any of these eye incidents while on that job. The first time I recall having this kind of thing happen with my eyes was when I was 12 or so years old....and then it didn't happen again for a number of years. In the last 2 years or so, it's happened more often.

there's a version of it that's asymptomatic though, where you don't FEEL the effects of a migraine even though you're having one, and it causes that eye thing. Lemme look it up... Acephalgic migraine it's called. There are no headaches associated with it, but you can still get the scintillating scotoma and other effects too. It really depends on the person. So that may be it... but it may not.

I mean I had been stressing about a doctor's appointment that is coming up next week....
