Last night, I had one of those rare dreams that feature a favorite character, and like most, it played out like I was watching a movie, or rather, a preview or trailer for a movie, which means I was NOT in it.
It was more or less a series of "clips" or "shorts", which seemed to have "space" in between, like commercial breaks without the commercials. In this dream, Randall was still in the Human World, and had apparently become involved with a human female(who was NOT me, or anything like me). She was young, maybe his age or a few years younger, even, slender build with medium-length jet-black hair, and had a distinctive N'awlins "Yat" accent, so apparently, they were still in Louisiana. Whether or not they were married, or just "shacking up", as we say down South, was not clear, but it was obviously that sort of relationship. They had apparently just bought a house, an old house, and were having to do the "Bob Villa" thing to get the place fit to live in. One of the major issues was the wallpaper in the master bedroom, which was a disgusting pink paisley mess, and you can imagine Randall's reaction to ANYTHING pink and paisley! A lot of the dream involved them stripping away this ugly pink wallpaper, and Randall nearly setting fire to the tacky curtains(which were also pink, by the way)with a heat gun he was using to dissolve the glue behind the wallpaper, and the two of them eating a lot of canned foods. In one scene, the moving van that was due to show up with their belongings failed to show, apparently having gotten lost, so here they were trying to move into this big old house with no furniture or anything else, so they had to sleep under a blanket in that ugly pink room with half the wallpaper peeled off and half the curtains charred black. For some reason, though, they had a fire in the fireplace in that bedroom, even though I think it was supposed to be in Louisiana, so I guess it was colder than it is now. Oh, the rug was pink, too-pink shag carpeting. I can't recall the exact conversation, but Randall had some choice words for whoever had lived in the house before them and chosen that particular decor, and his "significant other" kept trying to explain that it had been an old lady, and old ladies are into that sort of thing! Apparently, too, this house was supposed to be haunted, at least that was the "feel" I got from the dream, because in one scene Randall was putting up stuff from boxes into the kitchen cabinets, and catches a glimpse of someone walking past the door to another room, who looks sorta like this woman he's hooked up with, and he calls out to her to come help him(no, I cannot recall her name for the life of me), and getting no response, goes into the room to see what gives, only to see no one there. He shrugs and goes back to the kitchen, but happens to glance out the kitchen window to see his woman getting out of a vehicle(large SUV)in the driveway with grocery bags in her arms, obviously having just arrived from a shopping trip. The final scene that I can remember was of them having some sort of arguement, with the woman telling him, "Look, I gotta go pick up dinner; I don't have time to stand her arguing with a monster over whether there's such things as ghosts or not!"
