....in the scene where he's infront of the bathroom mirror fixing his fronds?
I always thought that scene was rather sexy, him caring about how he looks there. ;D

....in the scene where he's infront of the bathroom mirror fixing his fronds? I always thought that scene was rather sexy, him caring about how he looks there. ;D Randall actually wasn't "fixing" his fronds in that scene. He was splashing cold water over them and his face to cool off, no doubt due to the intense stress and pressure he was under by that point. If you notice the profile view when he's in front of the mirror, just as Fungus walks in grinning like the cat that ate the canary and barely able to stifle a snicker at knowing how Randall is going to react to him deliberately barging in and announcing to all the world that the kid in the newspaper is the one Randall is looking for, you'll see that Randall is not even looking in the mirror at his own reflection. His gaze is very "absent", like his mind is somewhere else...which it was. But yes, he still looks sexy as hell, even stressed to the point of emotional overload, though it's rather disturbing to see the vertebrae sticking up in his back in the view where he's walking away from the camera towards the sink, a sign that he has not been eating well or taking care of himself. Unfortunately, no, I don't have a gif of that, though I wish I did. pitbulllady

All I knew was he looked sexy when he did that, so I wanted to have a gif of it. Anyway, my vertebrae actually shows sometimes in certain positions and what not since I'm skinny as hell but I've always been skinny as hell so I dunno.....Randall is clearly under a lot of stress though so it's possible that he isn't that weight naturally. It will be interesting to see if he isn't quite as thin in Monster's University. EDIT: Oh and PBL, if I find a gif of it I will send it to you. If it comes down to it, I might see if my b/f can make one(he's good at that stuff since back in the day he took classes in graphic arts). I just don't like to ask him for much of these things because he is a really busy guy. I mean he just told me he didn't even eat anything in the last 24 hours because he was going crazy doing stuff. I'm a little worried about him sometimes. I'd honestly bring him food/make him food if I could but he's too far away for that to be an option sadly. He actually only more recently(a few months ago) watched MI for the first time ever even though he is 25 years old, he hadn't gotten around to seeing it before. Anyway, I'll tell him to only do it if he seriously has the time to, no pressure. Like the Randall Wallpaper he made me....but he gave that to me as a Christmas gift and did it during Christmas break when he was staying here with me.

Pitbulllady...
...didn't you once say something about Randall having various 'feline' features? Similar to how a cat behaves? If you know where your original post is on that, just tell me the thread to click on, but if not, can you explain (or re-explain) exactly what makes Randall's mannerisms and personality similar to a cat's? Emotionally or physically or whatever... I don't remember a whole lot of what you said, but it was an interesting observation. I can't find the paragraph in which you first made this analogy. Can you help here?

That thread is WAAAAY back somewhere. One of the Pixar artists, not sure which one, who had worked on Randall's design, along with some of the other characters' designs, had been given the task of observing various animals in zoos in order to get the characters' gaits, etc., right. Since Randall was reptile-like, he initially started out observing large lizards and crocodilians at zoos in California, but found that those animals had a gait that was too slow, too sprawling and seemingly awkward on land for Randall, whom they wanted to be quick and agile. The artist began instead observing the big cats, like leopards and mountain lions, and drew on their movement for Randall's gait more than a reptile's. You can really see this well-illustrated in MI when Randall climbs over the panel of the Scream Extractor after its power goes out, when Mike is in the seat, and how Randall follows the power cord to find it disconnected from the wall. His movement as he enters the child's room in his first Scare is also much more feline, albeit exaggerated, than reptilian. The only time his gait is more lizard-like is when he's running on all-eights, especially in MU, during the "Toxicity Challenge", when he is actually running along the vertical surface of the tunnel's walls.
