What kind of husband and father would Randall make?

It's really hard to say, considering his many issues, which would surely have gotten much worse following his arrival in the Human World. We have actually had many discussions on just how Randall could deal with a close, intimate relationship, and what kind of person it would take to deal with his emotional baggage. He'd definitely be a WIP, since it seems that he's actually had little opportunities to form close, lasting bonds with anyone. He is a very insecure individual, and as such, would probably tend to be rather "clingy" and very "needy", emotionally, requiring frequent reassurances that the other still cares about him. Randall would most likely have some serious abandonment issues. On the fatherhood front, keep in mind that this would depend a lot on just how long Randall was with his own biological parents, and what they were like, as it's pretty much a consensus that by the time of the movie he had no real family, or at least, none who cared about him at all. People learn parenting skills from their own parents, after all. If he's had no real role model there, being a father is going to be a struggle for him, most likely. At the same time, though, I've known a lot of guys who really seemed to settle down and hit the fast track to emotional maturity when they became fathers; it's like that instinct just kicks in.

I agree for the most part with that. Before the events of the movie I think he'd soldier on okay though maybe (there is no true instruction manuel to parent hood). But the idea of him having no parents or alternatively parents simply not worth talking about is a real issue.
But especially after what happened I think he'd perhaps be very over-protective to a kid as well. Maybe not Marlin-over-protective but still.I think he'd maybe struggle with the idea of expectation. Sure kids at times are sometimes genetically half you (but not necessarily) but that doesn't make them miniture versions of you. He might fear a kid making his mistakes if he turned things around but he'd have to realise all he can do is tell the truth of his own story, and that kids make their OWN mistakes. Discipline might be an issue in some regard. He might fear doing it even for whatever reason, but still at the same time want to protect them.
I'd fear for a boyfriend if he say had a son or daughter who liked guys. Not that he'd do anything (especially with a mother around) but.... XD.

RANDALL BOGGS (19 years later after 'Monsters 3'): "Michael James Boggs... you were named after two employees of Monsters Incorporated. One of them came to rescue me... and he was... the bravest monster I've ever known."
MIKE BOGGS: "But, Dad... what if I end up humiliated at Monsters University the way you were?"
RANDALL BOGGS: "Then Monsters University will have gained... a WONDERFUL young lizard. But... Michael, if it means that much to you, you can choose not to enter the Scare Games. The fraternities take your choice into account."
MIKE BOGGS: "Really?"
RANDALL BOGGS: "Really." (they hug each other in a tight embrace)
LOL!

But the Scare Games would long be a thing of the past by the time any of Randall's offspring were old enough to go to college, wouldn't they? I mean, a year after he was illegally banished, MI had already made the switch to Laugh energy, and while it's likely that many other companies would hold out as long as possible, that change would be inevitable if they wanted to succeed in the market. It would be interesting to see how Randall relates his life story to some of the younger generation, though, given what he's been through and the mistakes he's made.
Can't imagine Randall referring to himself or any family members as a "lizard", though. He's a monster, just like all the others. "Lizard" would be a put-down, like Johnny calling Mike a "beach ball".

Okay... I don't know if Randall is destined to have children or not! I was actually parodying the Epilogue scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. If you watch it, you'll know PRECISELY what I was doing. I saw several commentors that weren't sure, so I just wanted to be lighthearted about it... obviously, ANYTHING can happen!
HARRY QUOTE: "Then Slytherin House will have gained... a WONDERFUL young wizard." ("lizard" rhymes with "wizard", get it?)
