Uhhh... Ugh....ehh....
Sorry.... Just....ehh...recovering from the exile event....ehh....
Sorry. I just...had to type that way for a moment. The connections strong.....ow...
A...anyway....
I was looking...through the....."events" and came up with a few questions and a few things to observe.
Here's....one of them....
Ehh.....we all know about the Extractor and the place it was made. But what about the place it was built IN to?
Looking over Monsters Inc.'s design and the company layout plans, I've noticed that Monsters Inc., the company itself is several stories high and windows for some places are scarce.
Anyway. The Extractor "lab" could be in two places. Either the refinary (if memory recalls) beside the factory.
Or.....the door vault....
Ehh...any comments?
Sorry....gotta go.....dang memory....

Thoughts...from...the n00b...the pain...
*bombarded with cows*
Ahem. My vote's for the refinery, simply because the layout kind of suggests it---at least in my very faulty memory. >> However, I haven't studied the layouts closely, and am recalling from the last time I watched MI, which was one in the morning. :\
Let's say the main entrance to Scarefloor F faces West when you're walking in, East when you're leaving for break; then the small shuttle for the doors would head east-west, with the track bending to become south. So we'll say that in relation to the main F entrance, the door vault is fairly south.
Man, I need a whiteboard.
Anyway. If you skitter over towards Cubicle Country, which has at one end the entryway to the EBay---whoa, creepy---then you're generally heading east. Now, I'm not sure, but I think Randall takes...hang on, lemme count...*pulls off socks* Errr...
Ah. I think he takes two turns before he gets to the door; one right, one left. (Please correct me, someone.) so by the end of the chase, we're still heading east, but now we've moved sideways north during our trip.
The EBay entryway curves left, which brings us back towards the original east-west line of the door shuttle; Sulley hangs a left and ambles down a few yards, and judging from the turns he's taken, he's now walking along the north/south line, moving southward.
The EBay (I THINK) comes up on his right, which would make it pretty much on a line with the door shuttle, perhaps, but on the east end of the company as opposed to the south end where the door vault lies. So I put my vote towards the refinery.
Of course, I may be totally wrong. =D In which case, bean me with cows!

Yeah....it still hurts.....me mostly....
Well...here's a fact.
The door was NOT created by Randall, as few of us know. It was actually left over from when pipes were unstable for holding screams. They had to make manuel repairs, a job Sullivan had, on the pipes to make sure there weren't any leaks.
Lets see. The layout. Lets see....I've been there....where....
Oh yes.
The scarefloor is west, the path leading to other scarefloor dispatch offices and to the Lobby is in the middle. The other offices are in the slits you see on the east, each one leading to different parts of the factory (You can see Scare Floor G in the scene with Boo as a "cube of garabage") Anyway. Ran takes into the nearest slit and heads right, then left. Down the path, Sullivan takes a left, then a right.
Hmm.....It MAY be....wait....no.....
It can't be the refinary because the scarefloors are on the west, and the labs on the east. That's impossible. Randall or Sullivan didn't double back.
OH! Side note to those who were wondering who Randall was talking to with the distorted voice, it WAS Waternoose.

It's a shame that when they did that extra thing on the DVD showing you all around the halls of MI, they didn't show Randall's hide-out.
