Copy and paste your work and see what 'style' yours is compared to a famous author! I copy pasted some of my fanfiction. I got someone called Kurt Vonnegut. Looked up on Wikipedia: "Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (pronounced /ˈvɒnɨ¨Àət/; November 11, 1922 ¨C April 11, 2007) was an American novelist who wrote works blending satire, black comedy, and science fiction, such as Slaughterhouse-Five (1969), Cat's Cradle (1963), and Breakfast of Champions (1973). He was known for his humanist beliefs as well as being honorary president of the American Humanist Association. He is widely considered one of the most influential American writers of the 20th century." Sweeeet. Talk about an ego boost. iwl.me/b/8ccf5154 (This is what I got literally) Try it out for yourself! iwl.me/Edit: I kind of doubt it's ENTIRELY accurate, it doesn't take long to analyse after all. Plus I found this from someone who was laughing because they'd typed in uh 'richard' over and over and got 'Anne Rice'. I think someone did Fart and got Stephen King I think. So yeah, your milage may vary on this one. I mean I decided to write nothing but swear words in the box and got a rather good writer from the sounds of it when I looked him up. Plus just change one or two words and you get someone different it seems. But it seems like fun all the same. LOL.

I write all the time, any chance I can get. I tried this out, ended up with Ray Bradbury for most of my modern stuff (with some J. D. Salinger for some of the more emotional pieces), and Neil Gaiman for my earlier works. XD Authenticity aside, it is pretty fun all the same.

Oooh. Neil Gaiman?
Yeah, since it doesn't take much of a change to jump from one author to another I'm expecting BIG differences in works. I decided to choose a fiction which I think represented what I felt was my style now- An AU with Aang and Zuko from Avatar stuck in a bunker in WW2. Basically it was a bleak situation, but there were some jokes and a glimmer of hope at the end. Or that was what I was shooting for in any case.
I got Mario Puzo for my Bible oneshot fanfic (has the guy the good samaritan helped and one of the people who left him behind in the same situation he was, and that guy finding him).
I got David Foster Wallace for a small bit of 'Connections' in there. Apparently his style is often concerned with 'Irony'.
Which fits my fanfiction actually.
But that's probably just luck. I mean, the bit I copied in there was when Randall was sick and feverish and thought Boo was an actual monster and he was 18 again.

I got William Shakespeare and I don't even write XD But this was fun. I used it as the opportunity to start the intro of the story that's been in my head. Hopefully this will kick me into writing the rest of it, now that I have it started.
Lol, I entered one of my boyfriend's fanfics and he got Stephenie Meyer. I feel bad. I think he's about to cry.

I decided to experiment and try out three different things that I've written just to see what I would get...I first posted the first chapter of my MI fic "Down the Rabbit Hole" and within that fic, my writing style seems to be similiar to the author J. D. Salinger. Decided to try this with a much older fic that I wrote years ago known as "Sonic Adventure 3" and by posting the first chapter of that one, I got L. Frank Baum. Tried this with a small snippet in relation to my website Mistica's Haven in where I did a small bit introducing a new Haven character upon the site and this time I got Corey Doctorow. Three authors of whom I have no idea of who they are. Don't read too much myself unless you count mangas.

J. D. Salinger wrote The Cather in the Rye and L. Frank Baum wrote Wizard of Oz Never heard of the other guy. I wrote a bunch of silly erotica, containing the word "richard" several times in each sentence, and got Anne Rice. I lol'd. Lol, I love our word filters.

Oh wow, that's kind of cool. I looked up Doctorow, apparantly he writes a little bit of fiction, non fiction, and even blogs. His first novel is called "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom."
