What do you guys think happened to them? I remember Mike's quote, "Think of the names, huh? Loch Ness, Bigfoot, the Abominable Snowman. Thay all got one thing in common, pal: BANISHMENT!" In my fanfic, Vanessie is the daughter of Loch Ness and raised wherever Loch Ness was exiled. But what do you guys think why they were banished...?

Two things...
1. Banished for a crime they commited or...
2. Banished for a crime that they didn't commit...

Of course it can also beg to differ if that is ANY of their REAL names. Afterall, even though AS refers to himself as such he DOES state it fact that he was called it by the locals and essentially BECAME the Abomidable Snowman. So evidently it's not his name.

Well I just meant in general heh. Randall once told me Loch Ness was actually a guy but I don't know if he was joking or not ^0^ *prods head* As for Big Foot...could it be his close resemblance to humans that got him thrown out?

*facepalm* Since we have no evidence of actually knowing, Vanessie, then just make something up. There, problem solved! ;D

Of course it can also beg to differ if that is ANY of their REAL names. Afterall, even though AS refers to himself as such he DOES state it fact that he was called it by the locals and essentially BECAME the Abomidable Snowman. So evidently it's not his name. We KNOW that "Loch Ness" is NOT the name of a monster at all, but rather, an actual lake in Scotland. The monster(or monsterS) that supposedly inhabit said lake are referred to as "Nessie", NOT as "Loch Ness", and more likely than not, IF they exist, are simply animals, not monsters, either known animals that we would not expect to be there, or a species currently unknown to science, but not sentient beings. "Abominable", as you said, RB, means "terrible" or "horrible" or "awful", and was a name given to an ape-like creature reported by Sir Edmund Hillary on his first Mt. Everest expedition by the news media(sound familiar?). It left huge, yet human-like tracks in the snow, and the assumption was that it must be a terrible, ferocious thing(keep in mind that people still thought gorillas were man-eating, savage killers at this time), so the news media called it "The Abominable Snowman", since back then, as now, they had to sensationalize everything. Whatever monsters get reported by humans, IF they are actual monsters at all rather than animals, would not have had those names when they still lived in the Monster World. Mike probably had heard rumors of various monsters that wound up in the Human World and what the humans called them, though things like newspapers left sitting around in some kid's room or a tv left on, and like rumors everywhere, their content had changed greatly from the actual truth(which Mike has problems with anyway). At least SOME of the things he'd heard about, like Loch Ness(again, that is a body of water) might NOT have been the result of humans seeing "banished" monsters at all, but of humans seeing unknown Human World animals, but with the word "monster" attached to it, it would be easy for monsters, hearing of these things supposedly sighted by humans, to assume that they were of their own kind, and that they must have been banished. I have to wonder what Mike would make of popular tv shows on now, like "River Monsters"(about big fish), or "MonsterQuest", which started out as a program on alleged "cryptids", or completely unknown animals that were being reported around the word, like "Bigfoot/Yeti/Sasquatch/Skunk Apes", but which would up being just another fear-mongering "expose' on animals like "giant killer snakes" taking over the southern US, using fraudulant government reports and the misinformation from the vile HSUS, or the one on "killer feral dogs", which claimed that ordinary feral dogs were mating with "pit bulls" to create a "super breed" of killer canine which was stalking our streets, seeking out human prey? Then again, even Mike Wazowski's ability to make up a lie pales in comparison to that of "Don" Wayne Pacelli, the Godfather of the Humane Society of the United States, or of Gordon Rodda of the United States Geological Survey. pitbulllady

Wazowski DOES seem like the type to watch those shows. Afterall it would guess he watches "Monstropolis' Most Wanted" as regularly as Law and Order for people here.

Like I said, Vanessie, just make something up but please avoid stereotypes...as I've already seen, you seem to have a strong belief in such things.

You know, Mistica's fic has really got me thinking about the whole banishment thing lately. It seemed like the biggest reason given in the movie was tampering with humans and the human world outside the scare floor. It seems like banishment is the ultimate punishment, but wouldn't more dangerous criminals be locked up instead of banished?

*raises brow* Why have such a criminal safe in jail for awhile when he could be picked apart by humans day by day.
