Now, I usually read some kind of summery or review for a book before I pay $18 for it, but I made an exception of that today. My mother mentioned this book to me this morning. The author was on Good Morning America and they were talking to him about this new horror novel he wrote: The Passage. Something something, horror, something, something, vampires, something, something, Stephen King loves it, something, something, might as well.
I guess I should read it before starting a thread, but just the popularity of this book intrigues me. I can't remember a horror novel that wasn't written by King or Kootnz being this seemingly popular. I think what really gets me is that it's being describe as a book more about humanity and human emotion rather than "Bah! I is a spooky (sparkly?) vampires! I can has yur bludz?!"
I'll write what I think of it when I get it. It should be here within the next week or so. Since it's bordering 800 pages, it should take me anywhere from a week to a month to read, depending on how much I like it. Been too long since I've had a good sized book. I don't think I've read an 800+ one in a couple years. Hope I haven't gotten rusty.
Also, I think I may be addicted to ordering things. I can't remember the last time I went a month without buying something off Amazon.
