It's about time for a good ol' post pictures and videos of pets. It can be your pets, a friends pet, or simply a pet you would like to own. This is an old picture of Noodle, but she's still that same old silly. I need to get some newer pictures of her. I found my old camera and I'm planing on perhaps making a video next time she's being cute. I would like to have a miniature pig someday. And I would really love a Fennec Fox.

I certainly hope so. Alas, it's only a possibility, what with bans being bound to be reproposed in the future.

If someone banned my pets, I would just keep them illegally or move. It all depends on how hard they would be to hide. No one messes with my animals.

Now I'm going to show my pets which is only three of the many our house has (I swear, we might as well open a zoo here). This here our my boys, Sam (left) and Dash (right), they are our two loveable dogs who my dad appearantly has nicknamed "Dumb and Dumber". They are lab mixes and possibly wouldn't be here if their mother wouldn't have delivered them as soon as she did....a long story short, they are two brothers who are an interesting pair. Dash is our brains of the two, because of him, we've had to put up a speciel enclosure inside our backyard, Sam is our brawn of the two, winning most of their playfights much to Dash's dismay. Despite the antics these two put us through, we still love them. Now this here is my little guy (I don't know his gender yet so I'm just referring to him as a male as a default until I find out later). According to Petsmart, he is a "fancy" corn snake (probably as fancy as their "fancy" rats). I like his color although I do notice that he is very shy and timid but does show some inner strength when no one is looking. The two pics I took during one of his escape attempts which appearantly he didn't notice me until much later, the first shot is better than the second though. Which reminds me, I've read that there are different color variations of corn snake, I suspect that he may be one of a possible three that I've seen but I'm not sure, if anyone knows what type, I would appreciate it very much.

My friend actually has a ton of dogs too. To the point where they just call themselves the animal shelter of the town. This is because the animals consist of hers, her brother's, her sister's, her mom's, and her cousin's girlfriend's who rents from them. They also have a large supply of feral cats that live around there. Lol, what is with dads and dogs? My dad called our dogs Loser 1 and Loser 2. When one does something particularly special, he upgrades her to loser 1. Hopefully you're little guy will warm up to you soon I'm assuming you're waiting to find the gender before you pick a name? How do you tell a snakes gender?

How do you tell a snakes gender? Really? I actually didn't realize how many animals we had until I decided to help one of my watchers with a homework assignment she had, she had to do a survey of how many animals a person has in their home, I gave her a short list and she told me "Wow, that's a lot of animals!" I honestly don't know...I'm assuming that Dumb is Dash and Dumber is Sam....although Sam may not be too bright, most of the time unless he actually watches Dash get out, he won't know over half the time how he did it! Yeah, I am waiting on figuring out his gender before giving him a name, according to that corn snake guide book I bought, there are four ways. The easiest is by the thickness of the snake's tail, males have thick tails while females have thin ones, there's this trick you can do with a flashlight in which you can shine one on the snake to see if it's male or female. There's this one thing called popping which is similiar to how you check rodents and guinea pigs (and since I don't know how to do this, I am not attempting it) and last and the sure fire way is having your vet probe him.

Your Corn is a "Rootbeer Motley" Corn, Mistica. The "Motley refers to the rather random pattern, especially with that pattern that starts right behind his head, and the "Rootbeer" refers to the dark brown coloration. These were actually created by crossing oddly-patterned dark Corns from western South Carolina with Great Plains Rat Snakes(Pantherophis emoryii). The brown lightens up as they grow, becoming a nice caramel color. Ideally, the Motley pattern should extend all the way down in show/breeding specimens(yes, there are conformation shows for snakes, just like there are for purebred dogs, and Corns have a registry, the North American Corn Snake Breeders Association, comparable to the AKC or UKC), so some breeders sell the mis-marks and pet-quality babies they produce to pet wholesalers.

Got bored so I'd figured that I would post up another pet pic, this is one of two reptile pets that my brother (19) has right now, his name is Leo and he is a leopard gecko. Being nocturnal, I took this pic just after he woke up and to my surprise, he didn't try avoiding the camera (probably cause he was half asleep). Leo's rather calm actually and can be funny sometimes. One time while he was climbing this piece of wood in his cage, he accidently misjudged his footing and then was hanging off of it by his back feet, he immediately got off of the branch, turned around and looked at it with a "What is wrong with this thing?" kind of look. This other little guy belongs to my other brother (12) and also became the replacement pet after "Rex" the garter snake was released back into the wild. This little guy is a red eared slider, as far as I know he doesn't have a name but he sure is hyper, in fact most of the time if he sees people, he swims back and forth near the front of the tank because he thinks that you'll feed him or something...he lives alongside a pretty good sized fish...he used to live also with a little catfish (kind of like those algea eaters) but he...well, kind of ate him...yep, he did, we all knew that it may happen but my dad is all like "No he won't, that fish is small and quick, it can stay away from him." Yeah, right dad! We had noticed that the little catfish went missing around last week but we couldn't find him. It wasn't until a few days ago when we were changing the filter that my mother noticed something strange poking out from underneath the tank gravel...she dug it up and sure enough it was the catfish's head, spine, and tail...with no stomach....so yeah, that explained the little fish's disappearance. Now since I don't know much about turtles, especially this kind, I couldn't help but ask my mother of what else did they eat, she simply said, "They also eat shrimp...and fish." Needless to say, due to my dad's "Don't worry" attitude, we had basically left our turtle with a roommate who happened to be part of his natural diet. Now like I said, there is one other fish in the tank who is a good size and the only reason why the turtle doesn't bother him (not including his bursts of excitement where he accidently runs the fish over) is because during their first night together, other fish let the turtle know real quick to leave him alone.

After taking time to grieve over Alice's passing, I decided to try another pet snake and bought myself another snake from Petsmart and this time, I actually have a snake that is doing well. He/She is a corn snake but the problem is once again, I have NO idea what type the snake is especially considering that this one's pattern is different than what I've seen in the pet stores. If anyone can do an id for me, I would appreciate it. Here's the head of the snake. Here's just the body of the snake. And here is the snake in a full shot. Now, I do have a corn snake care book that shows different types but the only type it shows that is maybe similiar to it is known as a bloodred corn snake but I honestly doubt the possibility of Petsmart getting a type like that in shippment. Once again, if anyone can id, I will be very happy.

Interesting little Corn...the front part of her body looks like an amelanistic(albino)Aztec Corn, then it changes to a normal Corn pattern about half-way down. I have seen a couple of wild-caught normally-colored "Okeetee" type Corns from Edisto Island with this pattern, like they couldn't make up their minds whether to be Aztec Corns or not. Lovely little snake, in any case. It would take up too much bandwidth to post all of my animals, snakes especially, so I'll just hit a few highlights for now: I just got this girl in last weekend. A buddy of mine who does "nuisance" wildlife trapping and removal in Horry County(Myrtle Beach)caught her, along with five other nice-looking Banded Water Snakes, at one of the big golf resorts down there and called me to come get 'em. He thought she might be a hybrid between a Red-Bellied and a Banded, but her scale pattern and markings suggest she's all Banded, but a very unusual one. I'm guessing she is hypererythristic, or has excessive red pigment, what is called a "Flame" in Garter Snakes and a "Blood" in Boa Constrictors. And here is my female Suriname Red-Tailed Boa: And my little yearling Hypo-Pastel Jungle Boa female, "Shug": Another Banded Water Snake, a Gold female(anerythristic, hypomelanistic and Xanthic genes combined): A "Super Hypo" male Banded Water Snake: "Scarlette", one of my female Red-Bellied Water Snakes: And a BIG female Northern Pine Snake I caught back in July. She's over six feet long! pitbulllady
