This won't apply to those of you who have Macs, of course, but I wanted to see if any of you PC users have been running into virus-related problems with Deviant Art. I have Norton, currently running Norton 360 2010, which replaced Norton Internet security 2009. It's supposed to be the creme-de-la-creme of antiviral software. With the 2009 version, I often-and by "often" I mean at least once per week-would have the antivirus program pop up a warning while I was browsing on DA that it had blocked an attempt to attack my computer from that site, in the form of a fake computer scanning program that was actually a "Trojan". Now, the 2010 is allowing that program to actually open up, replacing the DA page, and to close it before it can continue I have to close out of IE entirely, BUT the Norton frequently does knock me off of DA, warning me that a "fake website request" virus(which is unnamed)is attempting to attack my computer. This is happening more than once daily now. I just had to abandon a search and response to another member on DA due to it happening TWICE in a row. Norton did provide me with the IP address and URL of the attacking computer, and I just forwarded that information to the Help desk at DA to let them know what is happening, so if it is something in their server, they can fix it. I was wondering, though, if anyone else was having similar problems.

I have a friend who's having similar problems, but I've yet to encounter this. I'm using Norton. Not sure what kind. It's just what came as a free trail on Windows 7 when we bought out new desktop. I'm going to replace it with Norton 360.
I don't use IE. Maybe the problem is within that?

I've had that happen a couple of times as well actually. I use AVG though but while I've only had one or two weird cases of getting fake scans on my computer, there are sometimes that my virus protection won't let me go to a picture or even someone's page and will block me off entirely.
