When I click a topic on PP, it's giving me the 'error' thing. I'm a bit annoyed, I kind of started two new topics on M.I. for general discussion (one scientific, the other social) on how the monster world perhaps functions- and I'm think I need to make edits for spelling etc etc.
Wondering if anyone else was having any trouble there?

Haven't posted there in a while, and haven't had a need to, so I don't know about this.

Ah, it's okay, it's working again. I guess I should also state why I brought discussion over there and various contents of my posts and possible future posts too though.
Basically, I think it would be a good idea, given the fact we have had some interesting discussions NOT related to just Randall but other things in the monster world too here- and it's to bring more people to the discussion by setting up the two threads I have over in PP. Also, I kind of want to discuss things in relation to this movie as if I am coming to it fresh and new (difficult I'll admit). In future posts I'll try and look at things like I'm NOT a fan of any particular character (Sulley, Randall) or dislike a particular character (Mike), basically taking the facts as they are and what makes the most sense, using the facts of what we know. To be neutral. I shall probably play devil's advocate a lot to whoever posts, as hopefully over time we get to grips with what the monster world is really LIKE, given canon evidence, and if it fits and is interesting/makes sense, extended canon.
Also, I sometimes think we sometimes run into misunderstandings with people over in Pixar Planet because we automatically assume certain things should be 'obvious' to people because WE'VE discussed them, we have to realise they are not. For some people they are brand new so we cannot assume that. We have to EXPLAIN ourselves a bit better sometimes.
Basically a good idea is to assume that you are telling someone who knows little at all about the subject- but is still an adult and your mental equal in many respects at the same time in other words, whenever you put forward an idea, if you get me.
I sort of started both those threads for this reason, to try and make sense of how the monster world functions in general, but I think it would also help bring across the point that it just simply does not make that much sense for Randall's exile to be legal either given what we are shown. But we cannot simply state this idea as if it is obvious. Instead write it out like a discussion/formal debate almost, with evidence, and citation to back it up from the movie, but ESPECIALLY cite if it's from material outside the movie (and whether it is canon or extended canon).
Incredibly polite conversation and debate where we simply try to find out what makes the most sense given what we know in other words. Think it might help in people being able to express their side of things better in some regard because sometimes things can really go off-topic and people start to misunderstand things, and I've been guilty of probably causing some confusion myself in this area.
Basically- one thread will be about the SCIENCE of the monster world, and the other is about the SOCIAL (and thus more controversial) things we can infer from what we get from the canon material and (where appropriate), when extended canon material can provide insights and interesting possibilities.
