Not necessarily confrontaion, but the usual judgement. I don't want to take away the intended focus of attention here, so if anybody else has any other question concerning me, PM it.

Indeed. Let's get back on-topic. The very first excerpt I ever saw of this manga made me dislike it. I know this has already been discussed, but I just can't get over how physically abusive Randall is within only a VERY tiny segment.

An interesting aspect of some manga is to think of the entirety of life.....on drugs ^0^ *laughs* Seriously though. In Manga several aspects are emphasised. So anger is seen rather critically, so is romance and fear. So in some works, emotion plays a bigger role in Manga for humour and character purposes.

Emotion emphasized, maybe. But even if I wasn't a Randall fan, I just can't picture Randall beating up Fungus as funny to anyone.

WOW. Who the hell am I? Pretty nice way to tell me I'm not welcome.. Sorry if I didn't pass clearance with you before I asked permission to post. I don't think it matters whether I'm a drifter or not, since it has nothing to do with the topic here. XD But if you want to know so bad, feel free to investigate my private messages. ^^; Sorry about that, I sometimes forget that this site isn't like other sites that I'm on where spammers are quite frequent...kind of mistook you for that but it's obvious that you're not one so it's cool, no biggie...also pardon my language if you will, I'm into freedom of speech and such and I do express myself with a little "colorful" vocabulary from time to time...so...yeah.

Okay, now since that's settled, back to on topic. Looks like you guys are talking about the artistic style of the comic...hmm, it looks to me like a bit of chibi is in the artist's style here. While I am a fan of manga, chibi stuff isn't my thing, I have nothing against it when it's done on characters who are kids but adult characters done in chibi style is not quite my thing personally. Still, I do like that it is a manga style, what I love about manga style is what kind of effects that can be done in just black and white and the fact that mangas are inked, doing those same effects in pen aren't easy. I've had to draw pictures in some of my classes in pen, while I don't mind it, it's not easy especially when trying to do shading. As far as Randall hitting Fungus, maybe it's just me but it looks like Randall's pulling a pkmn moment and literally tail whipping Fungus towards the ceiling, I would probably have to get the manga to see it better but that's just a little exaggerated but yes, that may have been done due to how Japanese humor is like. I personally would have found it funny if Randall was doing something simple like a simple wack on his helmet, that would have been funny to me but the tail whip? Yep, a little exaggeration there...I shouldn't try and judge on the artist's style since I don't know him/her at all but there are a few manga artists out there who could do a little better job than this...like for example, the artist of the manga "Model", I really liked her style and maybe she could do a better job but that is my opinion.

I guess this just points out why Manga and Anime are acquired tastes that I've never been able to acquire. I've tried it...still don't like it, for the most part. It's rather like that M.I. ride at Disney World International in Tokyo, where Randall runs around like an idiot, with a butterfly net no less, trying to catch Boo for absolutely NO reason at all(the ride is definitely post-movie, post-Laugh conversion, and DEFINITELY post-Scream Extractor), and is finally killed by being knocked into the trash compactor "accidentally" by Sulley and being crushed into a cube. It's apparently seen as very funny in Japan, along with the parade with the image of Randall on the roller of an asphalt flattener. I grew out of that sort of humor when I was like, 10.

Manga and Anime can be an acquired taste because there are MANY different types. If you take a look at Hayo Mizayki's (uh name...) work such as Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited away, and compare it to such anime as Akira, or a less known work called Venus Wars, you can see drastic differrances in presentation and properties. In such, it's a more varied genre than people think.

Well, I will admit that not every aspect of manga and anime I like such as the *cough* hentai that is all over the place but I like it due to the artistic style. It's very different from American drawing style and so, as an artist, it interests me.

Woah... trippy manga. Much too cutesy for my blood but eh, looks fairly standard for a 'book of the movie'.
Still, the violence is not nearly as manic as the Hare+Guu theme song
