I thought I was going mad when not noticing this... I knew I had seen the names of all the scarers on the scare board at some point, but at every time I watch my Scare Floor clip that I've ripped from my original 2 Disk DVD of Monsters Inc, it's different...
In my version, it does not say the scarer's names at all but instead just has the number of points they have and a green bar indicating progress, which I think is to the new scare record. In a part of the film I'm watching on YouTube (don't ask why when I already have it ;D), it has the name of the scarers and the number of points!
Is this because of different country separations?

That is weird. No progress bar that I've noticed (was it my video that you noticed this, by any chance?); just gives the names and points. Of course, the two of us live in different countries, so that might answer your question. Funny, I didn't think the graphics would be changed THAT much between each "version" of the movie.

It must be the differences in the various regional DVD's. I've never seen any "progress bar", only the names of the Scarers with their pictures and their scores. On the IMDb forum, someone complained that the Japanese version of the Blu-Ray disc, which they'd bought off Ebay, had only the hand signals for the traffic signs, instead of "Stalk" or "Don't Stalk", as it shows up on the DVD, and they thought that this was censorship for whatever reason, until I and another person explained that in Japan, the terms "Stalk" or "Don't Stalk" would be meaningless, because in that country the signs only show the hand symbols in red or green, without words. There are definite differences between different regions' releases on DVD.

Oh right... I do remember the review of the Japanese Blu-Ray. Well, here is the picture from my DVD (from the ripped clip version of course, sorry for a little bad quality.) Also just noticed the different scare signs... in my one, there is a sign for a red one eyed monster standing still that turns to a roaring monster with arms raised, while in the other version, it has Standby and Scare on it.

Hmm....the bar is, of course, a progression bar that probably tallies how close a scarer is to breaking the Scare Record. Seems they were allot closer...

Looking at the actual numbers makes the difference between Sulley's and Randall's totals seem more significant, but seeing a visual representation shows how close they actually were overall. It's also interesting to see just how different these two versions actually are. pitbulllady

I agree....maybe...it was due to the names really. I mean it is Japanese...so maybe the names would be of some confusion to how they are told in the plot.

Heh, I'm glad I posted the images in the end to show . Yeah, they both were really close, and when Randall overtakes Sulley, it makes me smile just like him as he is one green bar over Sulley... but then, Sulley, SO co-incidentally of course (and we all know why), happens to get a slumber party scare .
