I was thinking of getting Monsters, Inc. on Bluray, as I do have a PS3 and would love to see Randall in HD, but Bluray's are just so expensive. I'm hoping for it as a birthday present next month. But I'm sure it has been released here already- I saw it advertised on TV a few weeks ago.

When it was first released, I saw that Play.com were making an offer of selling Monsters Inc. at just £11.99! Now that, I have to admit is CHEAP for a Blu-Ray, although that offer is now discontinued . Things are always expensive when they first arrive... but again, I'm sure the prices for Blu-Ray's will go down in the future .

I'm sure they will but for now, Blu-rays are still considered a new thing. Like I said, they probably will but it will take time.

I actually think the only material that is not on the DVD, is the tour around the new ride at Tokoyo. Although, I think the outtakes and trailer are in high definition too. You sure about that? I've read elsewhere that there were two other features: the reflection on the making of the film, and some game about 100 doors. If you did see the reflection, what did they say about Randall, if anything?

Update on Blu-ray
Four disc is one of those weird Blu-ray with DVD sets, includes digital copy, release is for certain in U.S. on Nov. 10. Don't have release information on version outside U.S., sorry.

I was tempted to buy it... even though I don't have a blue-ray disc player for one reason only...
Sulley's EVIL smile on one of the pictures made me want to laugh SO hard in the shop. How bad is that?!
Even Mike's 'evil' smirk made me want to chuckle. Could anyone post that picture up? Or is only on the British version? I can't rememeber where exactly on the DVD it was... pretty funny though. It was of them sort of 'walking' to the scare floor- the scarers, but obviously modified to look like that.
I've already got the one disc DVD (and xmas present years ago), not to mention the 2 disc special edition just two months ago. Obsession: thy name is...

If you did see the reflection, what did they say about Randall, if anything? Um... yeah I think I read about the 100 doors game somewhere, but I'm not completely sure about the 'reflection on the making of'. I remember seeing a clip where, um, well, I can't remember who it was now, but they were at an 'around the table' conference kind of thing and they discussed their favourite scene, which happens to be the same as mine ;D. Scare Floor... Oh, I do love the cover for the Blu Ray. I remember picking it up inside Morrisons, a regular supermarket for me, and just staring at it, longing to buy it of course. But, I won't buy it if I don't have a Blu Ray player, because it's just going to collect dust really, no matter how much I love the cover . Plus, mum won't allow me! Digital Copies seem to be a new revelation as seemingly nearly every new DVD contains one. I have around, well maybe, two DVDs so far that I can recall with Digital Copies and they are Horton Hears A Who and Nightmare Before Christmas. I won't use them anyway to be honest... but they are kind of supplementary with the DVDs so, I'll just keep them in the boxes. I mean, you can just easily rip the movie onto a computer to edit it and things, but I suppose the main theme with digital copies is for Ipods. But it's also kind of like the UMD films really for PSP's.

Wow, am I the only one who has the Blu-ray? *hears utter silence* Guess so...okay.
The reflection of is exactly what you said, it's just some of the ones who worked on the movie talking at a round table, they talk a little about the movie and a little about the original disc of the movie. Not too much of interest. As far as the game, I haven't tried that since the only time I can is when my dad isn't home so I could actually use the projector since that is the only device that our Blu-ray player is hooked up to.
As for digital copies, I have a few of those, I actually find them to be a convience in that I can watch the movie without putting in the disc in my labtop and accidently damaging it in the process.
The Blu-ray copy has barely any new stuff on there with the exception of maybe about two or so short featurettes, actual foreign language dialogue, and for whatever strange reason, a dvd copy of the original movie. The quality of the film just looks like a darker version of the original, but like I said, our player is hooked up to a big screen projector so maybe that explains the lack-luster look to me. Overall, I don't know, I think that maybe Disney and Pixar could have done a little more to it but considereing that the original 2 disc had so many features to begin with, kind of hard to add more I guess.

Well, I finally tried out that one hundred door game...who ever it was at Pixar or Disney who made this game needs to be taken out back and shot, some of the freaking questions get too bizarre and complicated.

Well, they mostly talked about their moments working on the film, one of them was REALLY amusing! Y'know the part where there's a green dome over Harryhausen's? Well, before, it was an explosion!XDDDDD They changed it because of 9/11 and they thought that people would be too critical about it. The green dome really worked though! ;D But other than that, they didn't really say much about Randall, sadly.

Oh really, they said that? Either I wasn't paying attention or I missed that part of it...*note to self, look that part over again on blu-ray* Well, as far as Randall goes, they do have more artwork of him along with the other characters in the art gallery section...compared to the original 2-disc, there is much more...while certain characters such as Randall and Mike really didn't go through too many changes, characters like Sulley? Damn, they went through so many color changes, fur vs no fur, horns, designs, body shapes, good lord! They really couldn't make up their mind in the beginning...but yeah, there is more Randall artwork and concept drawings on the blu-ray though.

REALLY?! THERE'S MORE?! I gotta see it! I remember seeing Randall with a tie, which really made me giggle! ;D But I can see they let go of the tie!
Have you seen the deleted scene of Randall asking Sulley for coffee? I LOVED that scene! Could've done it with Fungus! ;D

*snorts* Ran wearing a tie. That'll be the day.
Actually Sullivan was his assistant at the time ^0^ (strange. From janitor to assistant, to full on scarer 0_-) Needless to say when you have a boss that needs a hot cup of joe in the morning, and your recquired to get it, better GET IT ^0^ Of course how they show Ran here, he doesn't really intend to fire Sullivan, merely be slightly sarcastic while giving Sullivan some valuable on the job training ^0^
