;D I'd love a life-size Randall plush! Matter of fact, me and my friend were talking about a life size cuddly plush of Joanna from Rescuers Down Under ;D I have a thing for reptiles ;D I've got a Uromastys and a Cuban Anole ... they rawk. xD REPTILES! <3 I have a pet leopard gecko in my room... he's the sweetest thing to ever set foot on the planet. Wouldn't hurt a fly (he eats crickets, anyway), and even if you threw him against the wall, he'd never resent you for it or ever bite you. And if he actually bit you, it would be of little consequence [/quote from her leopard gecko manual]. Though, if you DID throw him, then -I- would resent you. ~Keaton the Black Jackal

I was gonna get a pet lizard, but my mom...uh...isn't FOND of lizards..... So instead she suggested a Chinchilla. I got neither. ^^ Instead, we got 2 huskies. One is a black and white one named Mandy and the other is a redish brown one with light blue eyes named Billy. .... YES, BILLY AND MANDY.
Anyway, I still can't wait to see the toy. I actually saw a very awesome plush of Randall on I think, Ebay before. It, surprisingly, looked just like him! I wanted it, but I can't order online, and plus, it was like....$45 or summit. My friend has a little Randall toy she got from McDonald's, but she can't find it. ;.; Plus, she said she might've bitten the fronds...er...or...uh...fingers off....yeah....>>

Matter of fact, me and my friend were talking about a life size cuddly plush of Joanna from Rescuers Down Under ;D I have a thing for reptiles ;D I've got a Uromastys and a Cuban Anole ... they rawk. xD I used to have a REAL Water Monitor lizard, probably the smartest animal I've ever had...TOO smart, as in "so smart it's scary" smart. He hated dogs, though, and took it upon himself to open a Pit Bull's crate one evening because the dog was constantly barking at him. He nearly decapitated that dog, ripping its lower jaw off. There were no vets open to even euthanize the poor dog, so I had to shoot him to put him out of his misery. There was no way anyone could have saved him. Needless to say, the Monitor had to find a new, dogless home. He was really sweet with people, though, just hated dogs. At least the Uromastyx are relatively small and are vegetarians. They have these BIG plush Iguanas at a local supermarket, in a big box, and those things are SOOOoooo soft and velvety. They're like big pillows, all floppy. I'd love to have a big Randall plush covered with the same sort of material, which LOOKS like scales, but is pretty close to that velvety feel that many Geckos and Boid snakes have. pitbulllady

At least, on the dog's part. Murgintroid would barely lay a claw on him/her before the dog tears him limb by limb. How big was this water monitor, anyway? Since the dogs in my neighborhood make it a hobby to torture the Anoles running around, my jaw drops at the idea of the tables turning. You wouldn't believe the amount of lizards missing their tails there are around my house. ~Keaton the Black Jackal

Holy smokes! In a way, that actually sounds a bit like our rottweiler, Heidi; she absolutely ADORES most people, and all she really wants is her rear scratched 24/7.^^ So, most of the time, she's a sweetheart. But possums? Pffft -- fuggedahbouddit! She's already killed, if I remember correctly, three and a half of them, pretty much mutilating the three and then the half...eh, don't ask. Too long of a story. ^^; Some years back, I picked up an alligator Beanie Baby (back when those were still ultra popular), and I loved it quite muchly. Its scales were mint green -- VERY velvety to the touch -- and it had pretty, sorta reflective golden eyes. It was perfect for cuddling -- and, of course, it's now lost somewhere in my stinkin' house. *gets nightmarish image of her Beanie Baby sitting alongside one of the discarded Furbies in the garage* ; ~Light Rises

"Rocky"(sorry, I didn't name him-like "Cheese", he came with the name)was a little over six feet long and weighed around 65 pounds. His forearms were like Popeye's, and he didn't need spinach to throw down! You have no idea how powerful these things are, and they have hands, just like us, only their fingers are tipped with razor-sharp two-inch claws. Rocky was a mature male Water Monitor, and didn't care for anything that challenged him. Dog body language and Monitor body language is very similar, insofar as a dominant threat or submissive behavior, and the dog was challenging him. He also got fed up with the barking. I figured the dog was safe as long as he was in his kennel crate, but Rocky had other ideas. While I was cooking, Rocky just opened up the crate and went in after the dog. Keep in mind this was an adult male Pit which had been used for dog-fighting before I got him, so this was an experienced killing machine. He lasted about three minutes against the lizard; that's how powerful a Monitor's jaws and claws are. I've read that some Monitor species, Niles especially, routinely kill and eat dogs, so I guess large Monitors and dogs just don't mix, and it's the dog that will come out the worse for the encounter.

Isn't it a lot of effort looking after reptiles? I have no experiance, so I can't really say.

Isn't it a lot of effort looking after reptiles? I have no experiance, so I can't really say. It depends on the reptile. Snakes are the easiest, by far, to care for, since they don't eat but once a week(less than that often for really big ones), don't poop but once a week, don't make noise, and prefer to sleep most of the time anyway. Except for the tropical ones that need an additional heat source to bring their cage temp up to around 90 degrees F., or a humid environment(like Green Tree Pythons), they are pretty easy to care for. Lizards are more complex animals, physically and mentally, than snakes. Lizards also MUST have a UVB light source, or they can't utilize dietary calcium and will die. Most have to eat at least every other day, if not daily, and many are social, which means they need interaction with others of their kind or with people, much like dogs do, or they will develope abnormal and often self-destructive behavior. Monitor lizards have an IQ roughly that of a very intelligent well-bred German Shepherd from working bloodlines, which means it's also roughly that of a three-year-old human child. pitbulllady

Chinchillas are sweet- I had one I raised and he would let me handle him and everything, but the parents ... the father was Casper, and if you went to pick him up he'd race around the cage, up and down the ramps, shedding fur. They're crazy Biting off fronds ... that sounds scary O__O
