I'm curious- do you find yourself to be very similar to Randall, or very different?

I'm VERY different to him- hence why I was curious as to whether you guys are or aren't. I've got a bit of a short temper when I'm at my worst, and that's really about as far as the similarities go, I think. Sometimes I feel like I'm turning into him, though- I've discovered a real liking for coffee!

I am VERY similar to Randall, just a lot older, and female. I am severely addicted to coffee, and caffeine. I can be very snarky. I LOATHE mornings, and suck-ups and butt-kissers(like that blue furry guy). I tend to be rather cynical and pessimistic, much of the time. I have bright green eyes. I can barely tolerate motor-mouthed people who chatter endlessly about anything and everything, just to hear themselves talk. I'm not competitive like Randall, but prefer to just be turned loose to do my job, without someone hovering behind my back.

I am NOTHING like Randall. I'm friendly, shy and quiet (unless I'm around friends or family). Well for me...heh...I guess I can consider myself allot like Ran ^_^ Both the good and his darker side ^_^ A dark side? Gee Sean, didn't know you had one. ^_^

I guess we only really saw Randall's bad side in the film, so his good side has been left pretty open to interpretation. Personally, I've always imagined him, when at his best, as pretty quiet and friendly, so I guess you might be similar to his good side, Flame! ;D

Similarities: * my eye color, only slightly darker. * I too have a tendency to snap at exceedingly talkative people. * I had rivalry issues as well. A young man I attended junior high with was also a very talented artist. I grew competitive and jealous, putting a great deal of energy into the next one-up, drawing for the sole purpose of "winning". The only difference was the fact that I kept this "issue" to myself, allowing it to fester and it was VERY fortunate I lost interest in outdoing him, because had I continued this stupid vendetta, my artwork would have become nothing more then a tool to feed my ego and that's NOT what art (or ANY talent you love) is about. To this day I still regret ever viewing a fellow artist as rival, rather then what he was: A fellow artist. His style is different, but his passion is like mine, and he's now one of my favorites. ;D * Insecurity. Or what I like to call "The Tetsuo syndrome". A need to feel DIFFERENT, to feel significant, without seeing just how talented you really are. It's very tragic that Randall spent so much time climbing the corporate ladder, that he overlooked a solution to the the energy crisis that, givin his intellect, he would have seen eventually. The same inferiority complex that drove me to constantly second guess myself, (weather the situation is writing math problems on the board and seeing that the guy next to me has the wrong answer... but someone else had that answer, therefore I must be incorrect, or questioning my own opinions just because someone had a legitimate reason to believe something else), was the same inferiority complex that lost the poor guy sleep, peace of mind, and a golden opportunity to do something amazing. I'm finding inner peace, and should a sequel be made, I sincerely hope Randall can do the same. Wow. Seeing this thread made me realize just how much I had in common with Mr. Boggs
