I've seen that pic that is in DinoGirl's sig hundreds of times, in various situations, but this is the first time I've ever noticed that Randall is carrying something tucked against his side in his upper left arm. I can't tell what it is, though, anyone got a clue? I honestly do not remember him carrying anything in that scene in the movie, and if he was, what did he do with it, since he stood before his door station and flowed(no other way to describe that motion)into his first Scare assignment minutes later? The Scare ASSISTANTS(like the Green Bowling Ball)are either carrying or wearing their hard hats, but none of the other Scarers have protective head gear. Randall is the only Scarer who is carrying anything.

*crains neck* Time for Moi to be the designated hitter ^0^ I have that exact same pic in it's incarnation as one of those cards that have a 12-month calender on the back. Anyway...what Ran has under his shoulder seems to be the normal class of Scare Assistant Hard Hats. Though the way Randall's holding it is sideways so the......"overflap" thingy is facing down so he has a better grip. But the hat is too small for Randall, so it's not his, and even Wazowski's is much larger. May be a trick of perspective or someething....but it's interesting to note there aren't any other Scare Assistants at the time and Wazowski doesn't do the "official walkdown" as it were.
I just looked at it again more closely now with my own card.... It....doesn't seem to be a hat like the others afterall...The others have a sorta "bump" in the middle, which you can best see by Bile's (what is HE doing there?) hat. The one Randall has doesn't seem to have that (since he has a finger on it's top and the whitish section is more noticeable. It LOOKS like a hard hat, but of different design...maybe they're different between Scarers and assistants....then again Randall might be asked to fix a few things for extra pay or such given his skills so maybe he has his own. Well that's just my theory for now. Above all this is yet ANOTHER item that shows an alternate working for the events. (such as Ran's mood I showed you all after Waternoose's "salt in wound" conersation with Randall).
*folds arms* Hat or not...even looking at the real thing...hard to tell...

More proof that I'm getting "rusty" in my old age, lol-I did not even notice that Thaddeus Bile was in this pic, and given that he never, ever made it as a Scarer, it IS odd! And then there's Randall's hard hat; that probably would fit him, given that he would have to wear a hat small enough to fit between his eyes, since they actually protrude up above the level of his head, rather in the same way that Wilt wears a hat, BUT, I have a different theory...perhaps, just maybe, this pic was taken AFTER the main events of the movie. We know from the official video game, "Scream Arena", that Randall DOES return to Monstropolis at some point(just HOW, is the mystery here), AND goes back to work at the factory, even though he obviously would not have been a Scarer. This means that he and the company's present CEO must have buried the proverbial hatchet at some point as well, and at least agreed to respectfully stay out of each other's way. Since the video games are considered official "canon" with regards to the continuation of the story, and since we also know that Thaddeus "Phlegm" Bile DID become a successful Comic, is it unreasonable to conclude that this scene takes place after the factory had converted to Laugh energy, and Randall had returned? Perhaps THAT would explain the hard hat-Randall is not a Comic or an Assistant, but is working there in more of a Technician/Supervisor aspect. After all, SOMEBODY with a lot of "Know-How" and "How-to" when it comes to machinery and technology has to keep all those door stations, collection canisters, and all the other mechanical things working smoothly, and I think it's pretty much a given that Randall has a huge amount of natural aptitude for mechanical and technical things. He'd be perfect as the Head of Maintenance, the guy who is responsible for keeping everything in the factory working like it should and checking to see where potential problems might crop up, and of course, he'd need a hard hat for that job, since this would involve being around a lot of heavy equipment. That would explain why his hat is different and shinier than those of the Comics and their assistant-his importance and rank would be greater on the corporate scheme of things, since without him, they would not be able to do their jobs. Sulley, for all his faults, does strike me as the sort of supervisor/boss who is willing to tell someone their job, and step back and just let them DO that job, without being in their face(or on their back)about it all the time, and that would probably be to both his and Randall's mutual benefits. Randall gets his wish-to be a respected and important individual in the company, while at the same time being able to use his natural skills(other than scaring kids)to the advantage of said company, Sulley gets to let his conscience get some sleep at night while at the same time gaining a worker who knows the mechanics of the factory like the back of his hands(all FOUR of 'em)and has a die-hard work ethic, and Mike...well, Mike has to find someone else to taunt now! pitbulllady

*chuckles* Your not old Pitbulllady ^_-
I was first thinking this takes place before the movie events but since with Bile that seems out of reach, and future it is ^0^ Yeah respectfully...doubt Randall will just forgive and forget in the simple way but *shrugs* *nods* Ahh my guess seems to have found good grounds....thanks for adding that he's employed for that reason at the time, definetly positive there! Yeah true...I would think Randall thinks he'd better be called in a position that's not neccessarily UNDER Sullivan, because Sullivan alone got the CEO job after the incident, a more dreaded reminder, and I would think Randall wouldn't like being told how to do things by someone who ahem "affected their life".
*folds arms* Actually kinda seems like a good darned way to wrap things up....now if we can only see it in it's entirety....

I don't videogame except spore (where I am in that boring creature stage before things get interesting), but that would be a marvelous outcome for Randall.
