Well a lot of creatures "shed" in some way. Do you mean just shedding skin cell's whenever they die or shedding all his skin at once like a snake?
My guess would be dead cells just fall off when they die.

Every animal(and like us, Randall IS biologically an animal, in that he would be classified firmly within the Kingdom Animalia, Phyla Chordata)sheds its skin or whatever integument it has. WE shed, although with us, skin shedding/renewal is an ongoing, non-stop process, one responsible for 75% of the volume of household dust and that ring around the bathtub. Randall probably would shed more like a lizard, periodically, since his skin is more like that of a reptile than ours. That means he'd probably shed anywhere from two to several times per year, more if he had an injury that had to heal, unless he does have some sort of ongoing skin renewal like we do. He'd probably be very uncomfortable prior to shedding; I know that real Human-World snakes and lizards certainly are. He'd probably be quite as sight to see, too, once that process got underway and loose flaps of peeling skin started coming loose, like someone who's had a really bad sunburn! Of course, unlike real lizards, who have rather limited means of hastening that process, Randall can at least remove those unsightly and uncomfortable flaps of dead, white skin so no one else has to be subjected to that, lol!
It's kinda ironic that one of my dreams in which Randall featured prominently featured him shedding. A lot of my dreams are like ads or commercials for a movie or tv show, and this was no exception. It started out with a breakfast table, at which were seated a young woman(NOT me, or even like me, but she's appeared in a LOT of Randall-centric dreams, so there appears to be a little "somthin'-somethin'" going on between them, so to speak) and a young girl of about seven or eight(who MIGHT be an older Boo, don't know), and an older woman who is apparently the mother of the other woman. All three are just frozen there at the table, staring in mouth-open shock at something, and the camera angle pans over to focus on the object of that shock-Randall, standing in the doorway to the kitchen, picking up his trademark coffee mug, obviously having just woke up-and he's got huge sheets of peeling white skin hanging all over him, just like a lizard that's shedding. He just sort of squints at the people at the table, then grumbles in classic Randall style, "What? You act like you've never seen a guy shedding his skin before!"

If he does, it must be pretty awful to go through. I'd imagine that it'd itch like crazy. Poor Randall (if he does)

If he does, it must be pretty awful to go through. I'd imagine that it'd itch like crazy. Poor Randall (if he does) It does itch, as someone who's had a bad sunburn can attest. I've seen snakes and lizards in "pre-shed" that were obviously itchy; lizards scratch themselves with their hind feet, like a dog, and they'll spend a lot of time during that period scratching themselves. Snakes, which don't have that option, will rub up against any surface they can to scratch themselves. Snakes become nearly blind, since the fluid that builds up between the old skin and new skin also builds up under the clear contact lens-like covering of their eyes(snakes do not have eyelids). With the sudden all-over build-up of that fluid under their skins, the animals' entire bodies more or less become water blisters, and if you've ever had one of those, you KNOW how uncomfortable that is! pitbulllady
