...I guess I should post here. I'm a 14-year-old Asian female residing in the tropical island of Singapore (Randall fans come from everywhere around the world!) and attend an American international school. The first time I watched Monsters, Inc., Randall instantly became my favorite character, and this seemed like just the right place to get together with other fans of his.
I'm thinking of writing a fanfiction novel from Randall's perspective, so more often than not, I'll be lurking around the board for theories on his personality/behavior so I can portray him in the most accurate way possible in the novel. Hope you guys won't mind me spying a little... heh.

We don't mind you spying at all, though I prefer to think of it as "research"! Welcome to the board; if you're a Randall fan, this is THE place! At various points in time, we've had fans from many countries, so the love of Randall is indeed universal. It goes to show that many people, from many cultures, see much more to him than just another "Bad Guy" who causes trouble for the "Good Guy", someone who is not "evil" per se, but got caught up in something that was. Most of us can relate to Randall in one way or another, not necessarily as a role model, but as someone who mirrors situations we've experienced ourselves.

Welcome! Nice to see a new face around here. Good luck on the the novel. It sounds wonderful.
Well said, pitbulllady. While Randall is seen by most as a villain, some of us see him as just a mon who got caught up in the overwhelmed moment.

Welcome to the club, glad to have you aboard. Good luck on the novel. If you do start to write it will you be putting chapters of it on the board so we can read?

Thanks! XD
I'll put the novel on FF.net once I'm done with it and then post the link, since most of us here also have accounts on that site.

Thanks Veg!
All my friends in the States think Singapore is in China or on the other side of Texas... I love it. XD
Example: Friend 1: "Singapore? Where's Singapore? Is it in China?" Friend 2: "You idiot! It's in Asia! Asia's a country, didn't you know that?" Me: *facepalm*
EDIT: I just realized that the above conversation sounds EXACTLY like something Needleman and Smitty would say! (In case you didn't know, they're the employees in charge of putting "bad" doors through the shredder.)

I don't know if you've ever watched "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends", or not, but in one episode, this really dumb kid, who is the older brother of a main character, thought Singapore was in WISCONSIN! There was a whole running joke throughout that episode about that slight oversight, lol! I doubt Needleman or Smitty would have a clue where it is, either, and you can just about bet cash money that Wazowski wouldn't know! pitbulllady

^ Really? I've heard about the show, but I haven't actually watched it - once I get a chance to, I'll definitely take a look at that episode! It sounds hilarious! XD

You know it's funny. The day you came, I got a Disney Adventures mag. Mostly for the Ratatouille comics, but the other side had Jack Sparrow ones. And the FIRST comic on that side had the starting line "lets start where all great adventures begin...Singapore!" ^0^ ^0^

Speaking of great adventures... a terrorist (Mas Selamat) recently escaped from a jail here in Singapore. Apparently he had made plans to bomb my school, so my classmates and friends were all pretty freaked out for a while. But it seems that he's not in Singapore anymore, so it's all good... for now.

^ And in case you were wondering... my school is the Singapore American School. It was probably made famous from an incident in the 1990's in which a senior, Michael Fay, got caned as punishment for vandalism. President Bill Clinton even got involved in that case, but that didn't stop him from getting the punishment anyway.
There have also been other plans made, not just ones by Mas Selamat, to bomb our school, since, well, there's a bit of American-hating going on around here. So there are Nepalese Ghurka guards standing outside the gates with machine guns each day when we arrive at school... the situation's pretty intense. XD

Just goes to show how Randall can appeal to anyone and everyone! Welcome to the boards, sympathetic. It's really cool that you're from Singapore!
Sorry to hear about the problems at your school. The machine guns must be pretty cool, though. ;D
