It's really not feasible to classify the "Monsters, Inc." characters based entirely on Human-World animals, or our "traditional" monsters(like "wolf-man" or "Dracula"). Mike certainly has no Yeti or Bigfoot characteristics(according to most Cryptozoologists, Yeti/Bigfoot/Sasquatch are all the same species, most likely Gigantopithicus), and really doesn't resemble any known animal. Neither does Fungus, though Mike and Fungus DO roughly resemble each other, so they could be classified as "smallish, oblong monsters with odd-numbers of eyes", of which there seems to be a lot populating Monstropolis. Can't say that Sherri Flynt looks much like a scorpion, either(and I'm staring at a Tri-Colored Hissing Scorpion from South Africa as I type this), but she DOES remind me a bit of Wilt from "Foster's Home...", albeit with a long, snake-like tail(not a jointed tail, like a scorpion has). She's got her eyes up on stalks just like Wilt does, most definitely un-scorpionlike. And excuse my ignorance, but what the heck is an "Analite"? I'm definitely familiar with reptiles, but never heard of that one! There's no such thing as an "American Chameleon", by the way; that's a misnomer given to the Carolina Anole, a small member of the Iguanid family that does have some very limited color-change ability, but has a very different shape from Randall's, especially with their long, pointy snouts. Randall physically resembles Agamid lizards more than any other family, but also has gecko-like characteristics, especially with his ability to cling to surfaces, and he also has Varanid(Monitor)characteristics, namely his teeth and forked tongue and that prehensile tail. I do agree, though, that Waternoose resembless a land crab, like the big Coconut crabs of the Pacific.

The only Analite I've ever heard of is something to do with insturments. THINK might've meant "Anole".....
Though I agree with Pitbulllady, to be fair, most Mons would've begun with basic charateristics of possibly normal animals we see next to everyday. Though through the years, multiple hybrids come about and change dependin on relationships. Randall's line probably had little to no "cross breeding" and personally I think Randall is a hybrid of many reptilian species, maybe even the more noticeable ones. For those like Fungus and those with strange and unique forms, possibly cross breeding between uhh...I dunno...a jellyfish and toad or something heh ^_^

Yes, I was thinking of an anole, adding the -ite suffix you get in the Bible so much. Thank you, as always for your great reply, Pitbulllady (you type with scorpions on your desk, btw???), as always.
