I don't see pink either- nothing's changed ... it's the regular green and purple ... I don't understand how you can see pink unless the resolution on your computer's a bit off ...

It's still NOT PINK, never has been pink. Sean, I think your computer virus is doing this, seriously! It's messing with your monitor's resolution or something, and maybe has already been spread to FONY's computer. I went out and spent a fortune on the latest version of Norton Systemworks last night to keep my computer as protected as possible. Expensive, but well worth it in the long run.

Okay, well I know what's happened. Basically, when you're admin, like I am (but I swear I DID NOT DO THIS) you have the choice of making different 'skins'- like, right now, the normal 'skin' is the purple and green one. But it is possible to make others and leave the members to choose which colours they prefer, so if you go on your profile, you can change it yourself. Someone has made another skin, called '2nd' and has gone on Sean's profile and changed it. Now, as far as I know, only Zelda and I have the powers to be able to do this, yet, as I know for a fact that Zelda hasn't been on for a while, it leaves only me. But, since I know it wasn't me...well...I don't know who it was.

Yeah, but you remember that someone also went into the profiles of several of us members, and altered OUR information, so someone DOES have access to it besides you and Zelda. I don't know if either one of you has a sibling or other person in your family who uses the same computer, but such a person could easily get ahold of your passwords, perhaps their idea of a joke, unless it's just easy to hack Proboards' information.

Guys, when have I ever lied to you all? You know me better than that. Yes. It was a skin that made only my computer see the board as "2nd".
Well...since you guys "blew" secrecy....
It's not my computer virus. Something like that cannot have the ability to spread to another computer and hack into a SPECIFIC folder, like Boggs Board, and SPECIFICALLY alter ONE thing in my profile without affecting either Cool or Zelda in any way.
Besides....what kind of virus "creates"??

Something like that cannot have the ability to spread to another computer and hack into a SPECIFIC folder, like Boggs Board, and SPECIFICALLY alter ONE thing in my profile without affecting either Cool or Zelda in any way. Besides....what kind of virus "creates"?? Computer "worms" most certain can and WILL do just that! They install themselves on your computer, and while you are online, they go about sending out stored information on YOUR computer, like email addresses, etc., all over the internet. Your profile on this board is stored on your computer, and a worm can easily find it and not only get into your profile, but send it out all over the net, making it public! Anyone can then access your information and alter it. Those of us on the board who have programs to protect against this sort of thing will not be affected...not directly, anyway. If the site itself is infected(which is not uncommon), everyone's personal information can be compromised, but those with the least viral protection on their own computers will be most vulnerable. All computer viruses replicate themselves, by the way, and can "evolve", too-that's why they are called "viruses". All they need is to install themselves on an unprotected harddrive. While these unwanted programs are at work, stealing and sending out information over the internet, they also use up a lot of CPU power, far more than the programs that are meant to be active would. I not only got this info from my computer geek friend, but I'm reading it from the manual that came with my 2005 Norton Systemworks, so I know it can happen. NO computer should be without at least a basic anti-viral software program, and all such programs must be updated regularily. Norton is probably the best and most up-to-date, and when you install the program and register it online, you get free weekly live updates via the web to keep up with the current and ever-growing list of viruses, worms, and "Trojan horses" out there for one year. After a year, you have to buy a new disk. It also automatically scans your entire computer once weekly, or more often if you set it to do so, and removes or isolates any corrupt or infected files. I got Systemworks, which is the most expensive package, but Wal-Mart had the basic Norton Antivirus for $29.99, which is a whole lot cheaper than replacing a computer! pitbulllady

A virus might not make Sean's page appear pink but computer worms and Trojan Horses CAN give out an individual's personal information, like passwords and such, all over the internet. Anyone who gets this information can use it to access things like one's profiles on forums like this. They can also provice access to other stuff like credit card accounts, email passwords, and the like. That's why they are even worse than a virus, since unlike a virus, they don't disable your computer, but use it to gain access to your information, as well as that of people you are in contact with via email, etc.

I've got Norton, and yeah, it DOES work very well, though the full package wasn't exactly cheap...
