Eh Mike is far from my favourite and I do laugh at some of the things he goes through in the movie but I'm a bit less keen on taking joy out of him actually shedding blood and what not if you know what I mean. -scratches head-
I mean if he's killed or tortured or whatever in a fiction I'd definitly be more likely to feel kind of sorry for him than jump for joy. I can appreciate very bad things happening to characters in fiction and all in that way because they can happen and all. It can also add drama or whatever to a story, but in any case I tend to do the emotional and seemingly bad things to the characters I DO like before I give them a happy ending of some description. Mike doesn't interest me as much so he doesn't tend to get that very much.
Sulley (to Randall): "Let's back a way slowly".
AHEM. Anyway.
But yeah I didn't actually notice this before but it isn't really my cup of tea. And character torture for tortures sake (you know being mean to characters in writing) has some point in a plot or character development or simply showing another character (the torturer or killer) as doing something terrible and/or shocking.
What I mean to say is that if I had Mike very seriously hurt by a torturer or something the torturer wouldn't be the author's darling really, what that person had done but be a bad thing regardless of my feelings for the character in question. I mean the same could be said about people I don't like in real life too only of course that would be even worse.
(Does that make any sense at all?)

/skips down to the quick reply box to avoid being influenced by others *first of all, we need mental-emotional torture. Romance stress, perhaps? >Let's make his girlfriend show off hints that she's 'the one' and that they could be married. >Make them live together for a few months. >Mike gets promoted, everything seems to be in place. >Mike decides to live in with his girlfriend in some kind of condominium, or fancy apartment. *This would require extra work and such, which would make him -hopefully- sleep deprived. >On his birthday[or anniversary] make Celia screw Mike's superior, a frenemy, or a direct enemy in his own residence. >He would be rather dissapointed [he seems the type who cares about occassions.] >Let's insert some work stress here, specially created for Mike. >Eh, as he works late one night, some janitress[or other female] confesses her undying love for him. She then obviously stalks Mike for the next few weeks >There'd be this new thing called Record Updating and Evaluation Week [something like that] when he would be graded for his actions for a week. This week happens to be the week he planned to use as vacation. [the evaluation week was late notice.] >So more work and creepy stalker girl occupy him~ >Somebody close to him dies. Preferrably a parent [his mother seems closer to him than his dad] so he would have to attend, and cover all the expenses and such. >Bills and other stree~ >power shortage: there would be electricity for only half of the day >his car gets vandalized/stolen by strangers [during this time his best friend is in the main city of the Monster World.]
What else. Oh, physical torture <3 >depression gets to him, so he decides to commit suicide. The pills don't work. They just make him feel sick for a.. a week >his depression leads to his desire for isolation, and since it is a LAUGH floor, he would have to be happy and funny, which he couldn't be. He gets a notice about this >the stalker girl gets the notice and hides it in her journal >he eventually gets fired. >stalker girl follows him home, tortures him by chaining him to his own bed, and evntually rapes him. She then runs away [crazy wack, how did she manage to enter MI anyway? relative/human? maybe]
So there.

Well honestly I don't tend to like the idea of either torturing or killing anyone/anything and try pretty hard not to truly HATE anyone. I don't hate Mike, although I certainly don't like the way he was regarding Randall at times. Mike does make me laugh sometimes though when he does stuff like this: 27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lq0wlc9l491qkrec7o1_500.pnglol WTF Mike. Anyway, it would be kind of funny to see Mike's reaction if say Celia were to make out with Randall and Mike witnessed it....considering Randall is probably the last person Mike would ever want his girlfriend to cheat on him with/leave him for. Infact I think Mike would be annoyed to a degree to see Randall getting any girl, let alone Celia. It would probably just bother him to see any girl wanting Randall and dating Randall....in a sad way I can see Mike trying to get the girl to stop being with Randall. I don't think Mike is an evil character or anything but he has issues with Randall and doesn't seem to want Randall to be happy or get anything positive. That's how it comes across. I bet if there had been a female scarer in the series I can see Mike trying to set Sulley up with her on a date and it'd be kind of funny if she went for Randall because it would be funny to see how Mike would react to that. I don't think Mike would like it at all. Sulley probably wouldn't really care that much....he seems more laid back. I tend to feel like Mike disliked Randall more in general. EDIT: It would also be kind of funny if Mike's racist-sounding comments directed at Randall came back to haunt him. I'm sure that if there had been another rather reptilian-type scarer other than Randall, Randall might mention to that monster that Mike called him "Lizard Boy" and I'm sure that other reptilian monster wouldn't think too highly of Mike as a result and perhaps confront Mike about it and then Mike might be like "Oh no, not you....you're beautiful, not like Randall." and I think this would just piss the other monster off. It just shows Mike's issues. :/

I've done a couple stories where Randall and Celia have a respectful relationship with in each other, and by that I mean they don't have as much hostility in simple conversation that he does with Wazowski. If Celia is, for some reason, in the prequel, would be interesting to see how they interact.
Oooh, I'm surely wanting a scene of Wazowski being a fool and ending up in such a situation that Peter from Family Guy did when he got in touch with his feminine side and got up on a stand to tell a large group of men they were ruining society....................oh yeah, did I forget to mention that he worded it just right to anger that group...........oh yeah, they were African Americans doing the million man march. Result? Peter getting chased by a huge mob down Washington hehehehe.

Well Celia's VA is posted on the IMDb page for the new movie: www.imdb.com/title/tt1453405/So it looks like she's going to be in it. There is also another female VA listed that isn't listed in the cast for the original movie so this might be a different new female character? It would be interesting to see who she is. Also I've never actually watched Family Guy but that sounds funny. XD

*rubs temple* Seriously...this is seeming M.I. IN school, not a proper sequel....
Hm. Sullivan's girlfriend? Or maybe someone for Randall. Ugh...hopefully not one of those heart breaker types.
Wow 0_0 That's rare 0_0 Hmm too bad, no clip of that scene to show...

Wow 0_0 That's rare 0_0 Hmm too bad, no clip of that scene to show... It's a prequel not a sequel so yeah, they are in school. I guess it's scare school or something. Anyway....Sulley with a girlfriend....although I can see it happening he always comes off as more laid back and like he doesn't really date much. I can imagine Mike trying to help Sulley go out with a woman and Sulley not really caring much about it. Not saying he's asexual but I never get the feeling like he's that interested in romantic relationships of any kind. If there had been a female scarer that we had been made aware of in the movie I can picture Mike trying to hook Sulley up with her(I bet Mike would think Sulley deserves to date the female scarer....especially if she was really popular with a lot of the male staff), and perhaps neither him or her being that interested but deciding to go on one date because Mike is insistent that they try it. lol. If Randall had been interested in her that would probably bother him more about Sulley and Mike. He's already jealous for other reasons. I feel bad for Randall, he never seems to get lucky with anything and Sulley getting it all. Also lol yeah I know it's pretty weird I've never watched Family Guy. I have watched The Simpsons, American Dad, King of the Hill....but never Family Guy.

Yes, prequel, mistyped. There actually seem to be schools based on Scareing apparently in the world...though this university might be a more rounded one. Still, altering things like Randall's age and the thought that Celia and Wazowski have been dating for so many years, and Celia's been able to put up with HIM for years, is just mind blowing (I see, perhaps, the whole Scream Extractor incident is what put them back on track....but honestly if they knew each other so far back, that track would have derailed the train long before)
I see it that way too actually. I think one of the things Sullivan regrets in his, current, job as CEO is that he never formed relationships with people, in terms of the female persuasion (thereby gaining a bit of jealousy toward Wazowski and Celia's one). He might actually be unsure HOW to get into that type of relationship. And even if he did have a relationship, apparently he didn't go well since he didn't confide in that person during the Extractor incident, and he doesn't seem bitter about a break up. So either it wasn't an important relationship, or there wasn't one at all.
Wazowski would probably buy some two-way radios and do the "say what I say" routine heh heh.
That's a reason why this prequel annoys me in it's changes. Randall trained Sullivan and Wazowski, and was Top Scarer for a period. He doesn't rely on luck much (likes it, but most of what he gets is the bad kind) and prefers to work things out himself (which can be good for him, but also negative when it doesn't work out).
Wow....Talk about missing a stepping stone heh heh. Believe American Dad was made by the Family Guy staff hehehe. Though that aside, people miss stuff all the time. It's a good show, lots of references to current and past material, and it's matured over the years.
