I don't know how people can write that kind of rubbish in the first place.

"What do you guys call it.....character bashing right?" NO, that's not the same thing. You see, pairing up characters in same-gender sexual relationships is seen as a GOOD thing by those who write it or like to read it, which are many indeed. It goes by other names besides "slash", many of which come from Japanese Manga and Anime, in which homo-erotic relationships are common, and which probably is one of the reasons "slash" is so popular today among straight fanfic writers. It's called "Yaoi (male/male)", "Yuri (female/female)", or "Shounen-Ai" in many fanfictions and fanart pieces. "Character bashing" is portraying a character in a very negative way, making them seem evil, mean, nasty or unpleasant, or stupid, and often having them become the recipients of violent retaliation. Randall is an EXCELLENT example of "character bashing", in almost every one of the Disney books in which he's mentioned at all. Again, people who write slash would NOT consider it character bashing at all. pitbulllady

"....I'm a scarer not a writer....."
Down friend...
"Err...."
I think what he means is that some people might think of it as a blow to the character. Remember the one fic with Randall that was just plain wrong?

I don't wanna start a new topic, but since it's based on the art class viewing of M.I. ... we're supposed to draw our own monster. As if my teacher doesn't know I have my own already ;D But ... I'm going to make Sandra looking vicious ... gonna be hard ...
Anyways ... she made us write on a piece of paper - what are Sully and Mike's personalities and what do they look like, and how does that contribute to their attitude ... or something or other ... anyway ... I got sorta mean and I put Sully's big and fuzzy and I suppose he can make an awesome pillow ... and pillows are good ^^; And Mike ... I said he's bouncy and fun like a ball and I just want to shoot him in a hoop. ;D
I *think*, I'm not sure yet ... but we're supposed to draw Mike and Sully as opposites of what they truly are ... I wish she could make us draw them WHAT they are, since my brother drew three pretty menacing pics of Mike, Sully, and Waternoose looking like something from a horror film ... so ... I guess I could just say that's opposite and it's really how I see them .... ah, my head ish starting to hurt. x__x
I really got a bad migrane that day we viewed it, since the volume was loud and ... damn, I didn't realize how whiny Mike's voice truly is! I overestimated it! x___X That hurt ... I can still feel it pulsating in my head even now ... lol

Yeah, Mike really does have that annoying fingernails-on-a-blackboard quality to his voice, doesn't he(though not as bad as Bloo does)? I would have used that writing to really expose Mike and Sulley for the vigilantes that they are, rather than tried to be cute with it. I would have written that they were, in fact, cold-blooded killers, who acted without thinking of the consequences, and in Mike's case, a flaming racist to boot, and THEN waited for the reaction! You really missed out on a great opportunity to make some people think, there.
And, Sulley would have made an even better throw-rug than a pillow, you know, like those bear skin rugs, with the head still on it and the jaws open in that perpetual snarl? Mike would make a great basketball. Someone needs to introduce him to Wilt. You know it would only be a matter of minutes before Mike makes fun of Wilt's height(uh-oh), just like he does with Sulley, AND brags about having banished/ditched/abandoned ANOTHER monster(DOUBLE uh-oh), and then the real fun can begin...he shoots, he SCORES! TWO POINTS!

Who says a monster has to be vicious?
"Uh heh heh...."
Make a stand FONY!
What you would give to see a hunter with Sullivan as his rug, sipping tea with a nice warm fire....
"Heck yeah..."

I would've described how I feel about Mike and Sully, but c'mon- people can't understand the way we see it unless they look from Randalls P.O.V, and since he's portrayed as a villain, people refuse to look past that. I like to think too far into things- gives you a ... I dunno ... a new view on things ;D But ... I decided not to get too critical, since people do like them ... anyway, the teacher didn't collect the sheets- she just thought they would help us to create our own monster. But I already have one, so ... ^^; piece of cake.
I just wish I could find that looseleaf paper where I put all of the little tidbit facts about Sandra's life ... =P since we're supposed to list characteristics and personality and ... stuff.

Well ... umm ... that annoying girl got me so frustrated- I refused to show it, but I ended up sticking my hand in my book bag and shoving a staple into my nail bed *on accident. Me and the Dumb duo fan are kinda bonding since we both find her annoying, lol. Fraternizing with the enemy! Lol, not really ... since she's not the fandom type ...
It's so hard to make Sandy look mean, since she usually looks bored or annoyed ... sometimes happy. So I'll make her annoyed. Closest to vicious she'll ever be. =P

Just try to picture what Sandra would look like if she thought that Randall was cheating on her(NOT that this would ever happen, of course, but you know how us gals can be when it comes to our men...especially if we're lucky enough to land one like THAT).

Grack! How the heck do I miss all the good conversations? Anyway, I'd like to put my two cents in.... Joke = funny. Slash = good (in my opinion). Sullivan/Wazowski = just wrong. I'm not ashamed to admit that I verily enjoy reading slash fanfiction (not in the MI fandom, but Harry Potter, Trigun, etc.). This was mostly because there are a lot of decently written good fanfics out there that are slash in those fandoms, in which most of the characters involved could be considered "in character", and because a lot of the hetero pairings are way overdone (for example, Draco/Ginny. *shudders* Give me Draco/Harry anyday!) That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy hetero pairings too (I, oddly enough, like Harry/Ginny as a pairing, provided it's well written). And I will read Vash/Meryl (Trigun hetero pairing), again, provided it's well written, but will prefer Vash/Wolfwood (Vash = human-like male-looking "plant", Wolfwood's full name = Nicholas D. Wolfwood) much more, mostly because their's much more stuff in the manga to suggest that a romantic relationship is possible between the two than with Vash and Meryl (who is merely an insurance girl who follows Vash around because it's a part of her job). *shrugs* I just enjoy reading well-written fanfiction, and I don't let stuff like the gender of those invovled put me off reading what seems like a perfectly good story. The only thing that really squicks me out is age difference. I mean, ew. That's why I normally don't read stuff like Snape/Harry (many people write Severitus - fics in which Snape is Harry's father, and while I don't think that that's possible, the fact still remains that Snape is the same age as Harry's parents), or, god forbid, stuff like Hagrid/Harry, Voldemort/Harry, or Dumbledore/Harry. That my friends, is paedophilia, which I find disgusting in any situation. See? I have a sense of morals! I'm not run by my horomones! (most of the time!) ;D Again, I agree that Sullivan and Wazowski are simply good friends (isn't it stated somewhere that they'd been friends since kindergarten?). Now, Celia/Roz I could see... Joke! *ducks thrown fruit*
