Oooh, I like Terry Pratchett, but only some of his books, like 'The Wee Free Men' and 'The Fifth Elephant'. The Discworld series is amazing. ;D If you like fantasy, then I'm sure you'd like the Edge Chronicles, even if they are aimed at a younger age- I started reading them when I was ten or eleven, but although I'm a bit older now, I still enjoy reading them. Here's a picture of the Edge itself- And of a bookcover (albeit in Japanese)-

Good because of how it looks... Bad because I'm not reading it!

It's absolutely AMAZING- packed with adventure, mystery, mythical creatures like Wig-wigs and Banderbears, emotion, everything you could EVER want in a book, and stuffed with the most amazing illustrations I've ever seen in a book literally- they were so good that the writer, Paul Stewart, insisted that the illustrator's name, Chris Riddell, be put along side his own on the front cover, as the illustrations made the books as much as the words did.

I haven't had time to read this year except for books required by school. Still, the last one I finished wasn't bad; Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebee. It's about tribal life in Nigeria before and after imperialism by European peoples & the institution of the Church in Africa.
Some of my other favorite books...hmmm.. ~Harry Potter series!!!! W00T..all-time best. ;D ~Many classics, like The Great Gatsby, Great Expectations and other 'great' things. XD ~Flowers for Algernon ~The Call of the Wild...

My brother's reading the Edge Chronicles - I recognize the foreign cover (his was in English, of course). I think I started to read it, too, but just... never finnished it.
Terry Pratchett rules. ^_^ I loved the Weefree Men too (and it's sequel), but my all time favorites (and coincidentally, the first of his books I read) are The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents and Mort (I love the way he keeps denying that he's Death, but when people call him Mortimer, he always tells them his name's Mort - French for Death. Hillarious!)

Oooh, the Amazing Maurice is one of my all time favourite Terry Pratchett books! It totally rocks! But I find some of Pratchett's work a little bit too scatter-brained for my liking, though he is obviously a genious when it comes to writing. And, Sean, the first issue of the Edge Chronicles, albeit not the first released, is the bookcover shown- The Curse of the Gloamglozer. You should be able to get it from any good book store (sound like an ad, don't I? ;D). You could even try and get your hands on the World Book Day extra, printed in 2001, which is a short mini story set during Curse of the Gloamglozer. I had a go at drawing some of the pictures of evil creatures myself, since the illustrations really are that good, so you can have a sneak peak at what's in store- www.deviantart.com/deviation/18831483/ ;D

I like Redwall books. You know, the ones with the mice, squirrels, hedgehogs, rats, weasels, foxes, badgers. Has anyone heard of it?

I think I've heard of it from somewhere, but I don't think I've read any...sounds like Farthing Wood. ;D
And Sean, if you just start with Curse of the Gloamglozer (a story based on Quint) , it's practically a full story itself, and is followed by Beyond the Deepwords, Stormchaser, Midnight Over Sanctaphrax (all of which are based on Twig), then the next 'era' is the Rook series- The Last of the Sky Pirates, Vox, and Freeglader. There's another Rook one coming out this September, so that's it so far.

haha I remember Animals Of Farthing Wood! collected the magazine every time it was out, got the books and also an ancient video tape with many episodes on. If I recall it was very depressing and an animal died in almost every episode! I remember crying when badger, the hedgehogs, toad and adder's mate Sinuous died. But was particularly traumatised by the hedgehogs' death. they got squidged! so sad! Umm anyway...Yeah Terry Pratchett is so awesome, and I'll definitley be checking out those Edge chronicles, Lizard Girl. looks very dudey Right now am reading Animal Farm and re-reading Order Of the Phoenix, just to get me prepared for the next Potter book ;D xxx
