But I got it because, for long-term, if I didn't buy it and got a virus, it would cost a lot more to have to send out my laptop for repair than to have bought Norton Anitvirus in the first place.

No kidding! I paid $59.99 for the delux Norton package at Wal-Mart, Norton Systemworks, the most comprehensive package they offer. Try getting a computer repaired after a virus, worm, or other nasty has messed with it for that price. You'll be laughed out of the place! Try REPLACING a computer for that price! If I have to spend sixty bucks a year to keep my computer protected, so be it. Sure beats buying a new computer or taking it in for repairs every few weeks, not to mention that when a computer is infected, EVERY computer it is in contact with is at some risk, too.

I guess if you've got a warranty, then it's okay, but it's a lot of hassle having to send your computer out to get it fixed.

DO warrantys EVER work? I have one of the first PS2 models that I use for games and DVDS. For the first models, there was a defect that, after a while, the lazer that reads the disks gets faulty and won't read the disks as easy as it use to. YOU can send it to the company to fix it, BUT the warranty CONVENIANTLY expires when the symptoms start.

Yeah, but that would be YOUR fault for not renewing your warrenty.

I guess warranty isn't cheap either, but it's the same case with Norton Antivirus- you buy it so if something does happen to your computer, you'll have spent only whatever the warranty costs which will be a lot cheaper than repairing the whole computer itself.

Well...Randall did manage to help me with it a bit. It plays better, but not like it use to. Still ok I guess though.

Problem with the computer world is that there are always new things, so it's hard to keep up.
