Phew...been awhile...
This, I think, is a down time chapter to set things up ^_^
Chapter 16 The Normal, The Unique Morning came to the streets of Monstropolis now. The shop owners opened their doors to the general public and the children came out to play. The sound of chirping birds, more residents than wild actually, and the bustling of cars passing down the roads. The sun shinned in the window; hitting Lune’s eyes and making him turn on his side to avoid it. Randall was beside him. He was on his back, but his head was turned away from the window, having known the experience, fronds down and tail swinging lightly left and right. Vee had apparently fallen on the floor, though had his hands on the blanket curled around him, signifying he hadn’t actually impacted the floor. Lune fluttered his eyes, opening them. Seeing Randall still asleep beside him and seeing Vee’s “ears” from over the bed. He smiled, turning onto his back and placing his hands behind his head. He starred at the ceiling fan, which he failed to notice before. These were the times he enjoyed the most. Being with Randall and Vee made him feel…better inside. Fighting these Heartless seemed wrong. As if taking away a piece of him. He was unsure WHAT that piece was, but he was confident it was the mere simplicity of being with his friends. Vee had always made him laugh with his almost childish personality. And Randall had his own way of expressing himself when he had no limitations. They say that heck is being trapped in a room with your friends. Faintly, Lune thought he could be vacuumed sealed in room with them. It wouldn’t be heck; they would all just be bored being in one place for so long. Still. They were quite the trio. There have always been trios that have been made famous and have stuck together for a long time. Lune considered their trio-ship to be the same thing. He sat up. But he wondered. Would they ever be normal again? Would they ever have these now-precious moments again? The Heartless seemed relentless enough. Sure, Lune would not commit to leaving worlds to a fate of being destroyed when he could do something about it. But he wondered if their time together, their normal time, was over. Will they ever again walk without worries of shadows behind them, ready to claw them to pieces? Will they ever again watch the stars at night without the mist coming for them. Will they ever again be able to spend the day sitting in front of the television set to watch something together, without the worry of some gigantic beast bursting through the ceiling? Will they ever again return to their neutral lives? These thoughts began probing Lune’s mind. Never again…never again… Randall murmured a bit, but just waved a bit on the bed, fully turning on his right side. Lune looked at him and smiled for a bit. He hoped Randall was having a good dream. He had been through so much in his life. More than anybody would think, and Lune could relate. He leaned over a bit, seeing Vee curled up like a pig in a blanket. Or more like, dragon in a blanket. He had to hold back a laugh at seeing him like that. Then again. Vee always did manage to get himself in situations like that, dragging Lune along with him. Faintly, Lune would appear displeased, but he actually enjoyed when they entered territory like that. Lune looked between them both. It was strange. But it was almost like the two…completed him. He was unsure how he’d fight this thing without them. Without Vee’s childish antics and enthusiasm…without Randall’s experience and inventiveness…he would probably succumb to the Darkness himself….
