Feh. I was at my friend's house this weekend and on Sunday we went to IHOP for breakfast. While we were there, her dad and her started to talk about Johnny Deep and how he teams up with Tim Burton alot. I told her that I wanted to see Sleepy Hallow cause of Tim Burton and I liked the old story. I also remembered reading on a site that Jack Skellington appeared in it as the scarecrow. She said awesome and all that and THEN she finaly said "Did you know Jack Skellington appears in James and the Giant Peach as the captain when they dive in to get the compass?" I said, "WHAT!? That's crazy talk..." She asked me to watch it when I got home. I did and SURE enough, the ol' captain looked like Jack....exept maybe shorter. He just had his face and hands.
I just named 2 appearences (one I know is fact, other not a clue) that he appears. I under stand Sleepy Hallow since Tim produces or directs it, forgot, but James and the Giant Peach? I looked on the net and IMdb and his name didn't come up in any credits from what I've read.
If this is SPAM or something, Sorry. I just wanted to know WHY they put Jack in there, not that it's a bad thing, I was just curious. And also if anyone else knew any other Cameos he's in.
Sorry once again if this is either spam or in the wrong place.

I think Jack appearing in James and the giant Peach was probably down to the design of the set. It seems a lot of the ppl who worked on Nightmare... probably worked on James... as well, so these character designs might have rubbed off onto the later film. Both these films have gothic undertones (i think) and I always thoght they had similar looks to them anyway. well they're just my thoughts, and prob totally inaccurate ;D but anyway...whooo- go Jack! the only skeleton i ever fell for...

Either that, or one of them was a girl and had a crush on Jack, so she wanted to put him in there, but that's probably WAAAYYYY off.... But still, your probably right anyway. =D Well.. Actually, when the Centipede went into the Captain's cabin, he ACTUALLY said "A skellington?". Co-wink-ee-dink? I dunno, MAYBE....most likely not...>> *shrug*

No I think your right about that. he does say "skellington". perhaps a knowing wink at audiences who happen to be a fan of Nightmare? Centipede was another fave of mine too! Thought it was funny how he had such a strong american accent and all the other characters were very english heheh it'd be nice to think there was some Jack-crazed fan girl working on the set! I know I'd try n sneak him in the film if given the opportunity ;D

Hmm. I liked the Earth Worm's accent. Sounded a bit of Austrailian mixed with british like..... Not sure...
..... I could look around on some sites and see if any girls helped make JatGP AND NmB4C.....then we can have a better hunch....=D

James and the Giant Peach is another one of my faves. Centipede is great..how he's this tough guy from Brooklyn..and the Earthworm! He's so pitiable and his voice IS cute. ^^

YES. I figured out what his voice ACTUALLY sounds like. Scottish! I can tell he's got a bit of a scottish accent... And I don't remember that line. I remember him saying - "They're gonna come after us with a shovel! I know! It happened to mah brotha!" See? Kinda scottish accent.... But I should watch it YET AGAIN and see if I can hear that line.

I think the earthworm accent is meant to be a "northern" british type which is present in a few british soaps I have to tolerate (being british n all). these soaps are not good, btw, in fact they're downright rubbish. But the accent on earthworm i find very funny! yeah centipede was def the best character! anyone else wonder whether he and Miss Spider got together in the end? They were so cute; a real Love-Hate relationship

I loved the Miss Spider/Mr. Centipede little pairing. ^_~ I definitely think they had something going on and they probably did get together.

If any of you watch old British sitcoms, the Earthworm's accent immidiately struck me, the first time I watched it, as the same one that Baldrick uses in the "Blackadder" series. I always thought that the centipede's accent was New York(-an? -ish?). But then again, I know next to nothing about American accents, so...
In James and the Giant Peach, the Eathworm was my favorite character, closely followed by the Grasshopper. I just loved the scene where he was playing that sad song on the violin on top of the Peach...
