Actually a COUPLE of 'em, the little snots! We've got "Groaning", a 14-year-old from Austria, and dear old "Phoenician", who believes that Randall got what he deserved, Waternoose didn't deserve anything worse than jail(the poor old grandfatherly guy), and the movie does not deserve a sequel because Randall is dead and nobody gives a rat's butt(sorry, Remy)about him. If you have not been over there, how about a show of numbers, guys!

Get 'em riled up- you'll probably cause them to get theirselves banned with your witty talk, pitbulllady! ^^ lol I hate those sorts of people. Have they no sense of justice? =P I mean, sure, when people make a villain, they don't want you to look up to them or anything, but you have to read between the lines. I found every 'villain' can be justified, since what they're doing that's considered bad to the heroes is what's good to them.

*shakes head* There's always got to be someone, hasn't there?
Though, if you have heard the first Pixar Planet Podcast, you'll know that Dash and several other members were very surprised by the amount of fans Randall has- we're making our mark!

I'm actually unoffended by Phonecion..... he CLEARLY stated that he (she?) doesn't hate reptiles. Not all Randall "haters" are speciests you know.
I think I made it very clear before that while Randall did NOT deserve a punishment QUITE as severe as he recieved, he did desearve a punishment of some nature, perhaps not as much as Waternoose, but somthing noe the less. After all, regardless of the monsters' attitude towards humans (one as somone here stated, I THINK it was PBL, bore an eerie resemblance to the human/ "gross" animal relationship) in the end, had Waternoose's plan worked, children would GET HURT. And Randall, bless his soul, would be involved.
Jail time would have been much more fitting. After all, he ALMOST took part in hurtting kids.
*do forgive any and all punctuational/spelling errors, I'm on a pain reliever, and in my fingers are in their "happy place".

MY point is, though, there is NOTHING unethical, or illegal, about a monster hurting a HUMAN child, anymore than it is considered illegal for a person to kill and skin a rattlesnake in most US states. Human children were, by LAW, classified as dangerous and threatening, and if some profit could be made in the process of eliminating that threat, so be it, as things stood in Monstropolis. The problem was with bringing human children into the Monster World in the first place; they were perceived as SOOO dangerous, that their mere presence would threaten the very existance of the Monster World itself, so you have that "Snakes on a Plane" scenario there. Insofar as the monsters and their laws are concerned, THAT is where Randall would have been breaking the law, but of course WE know that the law was really unjust, and that human children were NOT toxic and deadly after all. Whether or not that law would be changed after the fact is known is yet-another good reason for a sequel, come to think about it. If it IS, that means that Waternoose WILL likely be released from prison, since the primary reason for keeping him there in the first place will be gone. I know that in cases of Civil Rights leaders who were jailed in the '60's, they were released as soon as the laws they broke in protest got changed. pitbulllady

ONLY problem with that is that James Coburn is dead. For the most part Pixar prides themselves on keeping relatively the same cast for their sequels. While this may seem rather archaic, they also wish to avoid becoming too much like the former Eisner run Disney in throwing away these sequels with an entirely different cast. True, the main characters are still alive, and I'm not saying this is a definite policy, but as more time passes....people start dying. Heck, it was a major blow to me last year to find out that Steve Susskind, Jerry's voice, was killed when his limo was rammed in LA. So in the end...I'm not really sure HOW they'll treat this, its entirely possible that Waternoose himself could be written off as dead, perhaps killed by a heart attack in prison, heheh, reflecting Coburn's death but adding the prison part for his character. They could also write Jerry off as well....auto wreck. No telling really WHAT they'll do for a sequel.

Like Remy said, them two gone isn't a big blow to the possible sequel though, Jerry wasn't a big character and the way the movie ended, Waternoose has a perfect excuse for not showing up in the sequel for whatever reason. ;D
