Try to see BEYOND hair for this one! IF you compare Sulley's facial features and expressions with Buddy's, they ARE awefully similar! Same blue eyes, same eye shape, even. Same exaggerated chin. Same expressions, especially when they get mad or are having to make up a lie on the spot, LOL! Compare Sulley's expression, for example, right as he's setting off after Randall on the Scare Floor, after Randall inadvertently kidnaps Mike, with Buddy's expression when he regains conciousness after his 'droid's rebellion, and realizes that the Incredibles have beaten the robot and destroyed his plans. OR, compare Sulley's expression when his boss/father figure asks him who's kid Boo is, and later when Randall asks him if he's seen anything(regarding the child that was spotted in the restaurant), with that look Buddy has when Kari is speaking to him in the doorway in the screen cap from "Jack-Jack Attack", LOL! Yeah, Buddy can come up with a lie on the spot quicker than Sulley can, but he's still a rank amateur compared to Mike! Mike's expression doesn't even reflect that he's lying, he's had so much practice! True, there aren't as many similarities between Sulley and Buddy as there are between Sulley's opponent and Buddy's girlfriend/accomplice-now THEY have got to be related!

I only think their facial figure is the same. Otherwise, I doubt they're related, and this is besides the fact one's a human and the other's a monster. And besides the fact I like Synd.
Monsters and humans can only be possibly related over hundreds of years, since Sulley's ancestors were people, according to Pixar. So they might only show very little resemblance at this point.

Wow, I just never thought that we'd ever talk about Syndrome and Sulley being related...possible, I guess, but unlikely. ;D

Monsters and humans can only be possibly related over hundreds of years, since Sulley's ancestors were people, according to Pixar. So they might only show very little resemblance at this point. I didn't mean CLOSELY related, like brothers or something(oh, man, that would be scary). They might very well have had some relatives in common in the Human World. Both certainly have this penchant for getting even, though, with anyone who's wronged them. As for one being human and the other a monster, there is still that theory that due to the recessive human genes floating around in the monster population(genes do not go away, after all), there is the possibility, well, LIKELIHOOD, actually, that from time to time, babies will be born in the Monster World with a basically human appearance. Now, I'm sure that for a long time, this meant a death sentence for those unfortunate infants, just like monstrous babies born to human parents were once killed or left to die in OUR world. I'm still considering the possibility that Mirage and Randall may in fact, be closely related, siblings possibly. That would explain HER most un-human ability to blend, as well as the very close similarities in their eyes and facial expressions, and even the way they move, with that same slinky, feline grace. The first time I saw "The Incredibles" I was struck by how much Mirage reminded me of Randall. It brings up the question-when a human-like baby is born to monster parents, what IS done with that infant? It would seem more likely that it would be taken into the Human World through one of the many Scream-collection portals, and left in some humans' house, to hopefully be raised and nurtured by foster human parents, who of course, would have no idea that the child was not all human. I've always felt certain that Randall had a sister, somewhere, and that he KNOWS it, and has been trying to find her, since she would be his only surviving relative. pitbulllady

That's a really interesting theory, pitbulllady! And, now that you mention it, Mirage does remind me of Randall, in the way they carry themselves and etc. Even her voice has sort of a feminine, yet "Randallish" quality to it. Even her name is quite revealing. . ."Mirage". . .it's like something think you see, but isn't actually there. Randall has that same basic quality, as you already pointed out. And, you know, I DO wonder what really happens when monsters give birth to decidedly human-like babies and vice versa. That makes me think Sulley is very likely related to Syndrome in some way, because they are just too similar in many ways not to be (I won't copy what has already been said about it, though). That theory would make an excellent fan fic idea. *suddenly gets a brilliant revelation for a story - darn it, lol*

For fear of repeating what other people have already posted, I'll just say this: Yup, I agree that applying those theories about Buddy and Mirage into an M.I. crossover WOULD make for some cool fanfic material. In particular, reading about that theory about human-like babies born in the Monster World being dumped in the Human World is getting me very intrigued -- probably because I'm taking a cultual anthropology class now, and my brain's starting to think more along those lines, lol.
Oooh! That reminds me...*goes to post a new thread*

Yeah, a crossover definately has to be made, if for no other reason that it ought to be extremely funny to see how well(or not)Randall will get along with his new "semi-brother-in-law"(assuming Buddy and Mirage have not officially tied the knot-OH, MAN-THAT would be one crazy shindig!), LOL! One thing is for sure, they cannot POSSIBLY get along any worse than *I* did with MY brother-in-law, for many years! The paneling in my dad's living room still has that indention where I nearly put that boy's head through the wall after he shoved me out of his way on his mission to shoot a harmless water snake that showed up in the yard! He decided that shooting the snake wasn't such a great idea after all, for some reason...coulda been the sudden migrane, I guess. For some reason, though, I can't see Buddy backing down that easily from Randall or anything/anyone else...other than Mirage, of course!

The only difficult is actually WHEN to put it.
As you said Pitbulllady, some of Buddy's creations have Randall's mark, or something like.
I think a part IN the movie, where you see Randall in parts of the movie you don't (like for instance when he's talking to Mirage and we don't know what he says). And then later on, the sequel (with Randall).
How's that guys? I've come up with ideas, I just need the DVD.

That makes TWO of us! You have NO IDEA how badly I am wanting to get my hands on that DVD right now! I mean, I paid for it already-now I just have to wait until the 15th, and drive nearly two hours at night, on mostly rural highways infested with suicidal deer. Man, I wish that the Disney Stores nearby hadn't closed!
