Bob told me about how John Lasseter is handling his new job at Disney. It turns out that Eisner the idiot made 40% of Disney employees managers, which of course makes the company top-heavy with not enough writers and animators. Soooo, Lasseter shows up a few days ago at Disney studios, he sees a man working on a spreadsheet. "What are you doing?" he asks the man. The man replies, "Just balancing some transactions." "Can you draw?" Lasseter asks. "No, I only work spreadsheets." the man replied. "You're fired! Get out! Come back when you learn how to draw!" Lasseter snapped. I LOVED it!!! He's REALLY getting into doing what needs to be done for Disney and getting rid of their numerous and useless managers. GO JOHN LASSETER!!!! Whoo!!! He gets my vote! ^_^

I think it's great! Many, many companies(and this especially is true for school districts)suffer from a problem that used to be called "Too many chiefs, not enough warriors", which meant that there are far too many people in managerial/supervisorial positions, who really have very little to do but are paid huge salaries not to do it, while there are far too FEW of the people who actually do or make things, and the ones who are still there get don't make beans at what they do, since all the company's financial resources goes to pay the top brass to sit behind big desks and try to look busy. It's wonderful to see someone finally in charge at one company, at least, who knows which people REALLY matter the most! What I'd really love to see is Lasseter re-open the Orlando, Fl, animation studio where "Lilo and Stitch" and some other traditional Disney movies were created, and give those artists back their jobs.
Speaking of "Lilo and Stitch", I have read where that movie's director/writer/animator/creator and Stitch voice actor, Chris Sanders, is very pleased with the direction that the Ed Catmull/John Lasseter team is taking with Disney, and he is one of the few who stayed through the grim later Eisner years and has any pull at Disney, so this should indeed make for a really great animation team!

You better believe it! ^_^
It's REALLY sad....Bob's wife is a Disney animator and she's been working on this movie under Eisner for SIX years and has gone through 10 different directors, 16 different scripts, and has still made NO progress....but, with Lasseter here there's hope ^_^
