This was posted on IMDb today-found out about it through "Animated-News.com".
"Iger Meets With Jobs of Pixar, Jobs of Apple
Steve Jobs may be switching hats in his meetings with incoming Disney CEO Robert Iger. Jobs, who is chairman of both Pixar and Apple Computer, has reportedly engaged in preliminary talks with Iger about working out a deal that would continue Pixar's successful partnership with Disney. In addition, reports spread on the Internet Tuesday that he may also be meeting with Iger to discuss ways of licensing Disney movies and ABC television shows for a video iPod that Apple is said to be developing. Jobs is said to be particularly interested in bringing classic Disney cartoons to the iPod. The Wall Street Journal said Tuesday that Apple is also seeking to license video content to sell online at its iTunes store. "

Steve Jobs also happens to be the CEO of Apple, which created and lisensed the iPod. He wants to have a library of Disney movies to be shown on iPods, that people can download, and that will mean that Apple, at least, will have to enter into a contract with Disney in order to do so, since they will have to pay royalties to Disney for that. If Jobs is able to reach that sort of agreement with Iger, most likely he and Iger will also reach an agreement over the PIXAR/Disney relationship.

Would putting Disney movies for download be a big commitment for Disney to make? Wouldn't they lose money on that? I mean sure, for old films like Aladdin and Babbie(The originals were said to be deteriorating and locked in a vault right?), but does this seem like a bad move? Sure, if they agree, the Pixar/Disney talks will be easier and more beneficial, but would Disney agree to Ipod?

I think Disney might- everyone still seems to be watching the classics, and iPod seems to be the 'must-have' piece of technology right now, so some people will jump to watch Disney movies on their iPods.

NO, because first of all, Apple would have to PAY them(and I'm sure it would be no paltry sum, either)for the rights to be able to put certain movies up on their site for downloading. Second-now correct me if I'm mistaken, since I don't have an iPod-users of this piece of technology have to pay a subscription fee in order to access the material. Given the popularity of the iPod, I would imagine that Disney might be making more money off of some movies that way than they do through rentals. pitbulllady

But what I can't understand is how you'd be able to play a movie on the iPod. As far as I know, the screen on the iPod is to be used only as a menu so you can choose what tracks you want to play. Are they releasing a new kind of iPod that can play movies, videos, etc.?

Well...there always is a second function for media playing devices. I have a Media Player that plays songs. It also plays video if you have an uplink or download from the site, so I guess it's the same for Ipod.

*sniffles* I have no ipod. Hopefully I am not alone! Ah, the joys of the poor house. I agree, the sales would probably be good for the movies on Ipod, but how would they get the dang thing on there? Like Lizard Girl said. Yes, I agree Sean, but the Media Player is designed to play CDs and DVDs, whereas the Ipod is only designed to play music. Me finks...

I am also not an iPod owner, but a friend of mine has one, and hers doesn't play anything but music. Maybe there will be a new version out at some point. Then again, my friend has the iPod mini, so maybe the full-size version can play movies.

No iPod, no Apple Computer. Mr. Jobs just won't like me very much.
You know, people would look sorta silly walking around in public watching movies, probably with all these other random people hanging over their shoulders trying to see the screen on that little iPod, too.
