THe list was not for the WORST villains, but for the BEST ones, or most popular. He DID make a very good villain, while he WAS a villain, that is. What I liked best, and what fans liked best, is that he redeemed himself in the end, going back to what I've always said about no one being completely evil or completely good, and no one being beyond redemption. This counters what the IMDb people have been saying about both Buddy AND Randall-that they are completely evil, have always been evil, and deserve no mercy from anyone.

Well, apart from the whole heavy breathing thing... ;D

I was about say, "WHA???" until you cleared that up, LOL! That's part of Buddy's appeal-even as an adult he has this little boy charm that makes it hard for many (mostly female)fans to hate him.

And his portrayal in the original Star Wars trilogy was so memorable to me because of how he ended up transforming into this "flesh-and-blood" character: not only was Vader a fantastic villain through-and-through, but he also moved BEYOND that to become rather human, and therefore someone worthy of sympathy. Not too many villainous characters PERIOD have managed that sort of tandem successfully. I'll have to say "amen" to that as well, LOL! It just makes you wanna see him turn over a new leaf at some point all the more. ~Light Rises

Vader well....no.... Anakin....was an example of how darkness and the power it holds can enrap one's mind and force them to go to unspeakable lengths... He really isn't a villain...but he isn't good totally....he isn't so much like Randall, but in a way, kind of...

The thing I like about Vader is that when he was a real villain, he was the kind of villain that you really enjoy watching- a villain that makes you appreciate the fact that without villains, the good guys are just a bunch of ordinary yet incredibly lucky joes.

Yeah....actually...I agree with that Cool.
Vader, and Star Wars itself, has some touch to it that just MAKES you want to finish the entire movie without stopping.

Personally, I'm not a Star Wars fan, though I DO understand why so many people like it. ;D
