Yeah same, it was very well done, but I'm POSITIVE Dreamworks was ripping Pixar off on their idea there ^_^

I thought that....maybe clever... But the stories had differences. Antz sorta focused on fitting OUT while Bugs Life was fitting IN

Heheheh, yes, they just reversed the storyline ^_^ Oh! Hey! Btw, have you ever heard of Doc Hollywood? Yeah, it's pretty much common knowledge that Cars did borrow from the plot of that movie. In case none of you have heard of it, it was a movie starring Michael J. Fox as a young doctor from Hollywood who winds up getting caught speeding through a small South Carolina town(actually Chester, South Carolina), has to stay and perform certain duties as punishment, and winds up making friends there and realizing that he can do more good in that town than back at home in LA as a plastic surgeon. Lots of redneck jokes with really bad Southern accents; they even brought in extras to play the townspeople, since the producers did not feel that the natives' accents sounded "authentic" enough! pitbulllady

It's also no secret that John Lasseter is a HUGE fan of Japanese anime movies....especially one writer in particular, can't recall his name.....but anways.....he made A Bug's Life out to be sort of a nod to that writer's movie, "The Seven Samurai", so yes, it seems Pixar does draw their inspiration from various other sources.

Yeah same, it was very well done, but I'm POSITIVE Dreamworks was ripping Pixar off on their idea there ^_^ Dreamworks seems to rip Pixar off at every turn. Like 'A Shark's Tale' and 'Finding Nemo'. But now it seems that Disney is ripping off Dreamworks' 'Madagascar' with 'Over The Hedge'. Either way, Pixar started it all with Toy Story. ;D

Heheheh, yes, a lot of the big competitors always seem to think that in order to compete, you have to have a movie that's similar but better than your competitors. Of course.....there was NO way they even TRIED to rip off Monster's Inc....too much of an original idea ^_^

It's also no secret that John Lasseter is a HUGE fan of Japanese anime movies....especially one writer in particular, can't recall his name..... I'm thinking of Hao Mayazaki (although I KNOW I've spelt his name wrong.) On the Howl's Moving Castle (by Hao) extra DVD, they had this half an hour film of Lasseter at Pixar, being told that he had a 'special guest' awaiting him, and to his amazement, he finds Hao there! Hao has this amazing present for him- this massive cat...thing...which Lasseter puts in the Japanese Corner of his office.

Yes! I believe that's it! Yeah, he's a huge fan of his. Heheh, really? Wow, must've been like a dream come true for Lasseter to meet him ^_^

Actually, I think he was a pretty frequent guest there, but for some reason or other, he hadn't been able to visit for a long time...Probably too busy making a film or something.
