On the board a scarer has about 12,000 points where the next lowest is about 38,000. In a company like MI, how does such deadwood keep its job?

On the board a scarer has about 12,000 points where the next lowest is about 38,000. In a company like MI, how does such deadwood keep its job? Well there are over....umm...I think it's over around 1200 scarers in M.I. alone. Finding GOOD scarers like Randall, Ranft.....I'll...give Sullivan at least SOME credit here.... But given how many scareing facilities there are and the fact that many Mons want to be Scarers, it's basically a cycle. George for instance, I THINK he may be the lower one, has a fair "score". I mean I haven't gone into detail with Randall about the scream recieved and how points are tallied....maybe it's the volume of the voice that determines points..... Well in any case, I suppose it's really "get the screm, don't complain" ^_^;

Most of them are probably "n00bs" who just started work, and haven't moved up in the rankings, or else they know somebody "high up" in the company who insures that they keep their jobs. I worked with a teacher for several years who was great friends with my Evil Principal. This teacher ALWAYS came in late, like 10:00 in the morning, though she lived nearby so she couldn't use that as an excuse, and she'd often leave by 2:00 in the afternoon. She missed coming to work several days out of the year, even though by district rules, we cannot miss over 10 days, we must be there by 7:00 am and cannot leave before 3:30 pm. Yet this teacher NEVER got written up, NEVER got in trouble, and her absences were often concealed by the fact that she didn't have to clock in like the rest of us, since the PRINCIPAL would clock in for her when she wasn't there! She also got away with slapping a child in the face, something that would have landed any other teacher in prison for several years! It goes to show that if you know the right person, you can get by with just about anything at work.

^ Whoa... that's incredible. As I said in an earlier post - the unfairness of this world is absolutely unbelievable. I totally sympathize with Randall and his feelings of anger towards others... hence my username. XD

^ Whoa... that's incredible. As I said in an earlier post - the unfairness of this world is absolutely unbelievable. I totally sympathize with Randall and his feelings of anger towards others... hence my username. XD My OWN personal experiences in the workplace are the main reason why I myself sympathize and identify with Randall. I know, first-hand, what it feels like to know that you're working your butt off, doing the best you can, but will never be recognized for it, while someone else gets all the "perks" and praise simply because they are friends with someone in a position of power, even though they don't work half as much as you do! I know what it's like to have a superior try to take advantage of you and your skills, to USE you for THEIR own gain, while all the time they hate you and want you gone, by any means necessary. I've been through all that. I have seen it and witnessed it with my own eyes, so no one can tell ME it doesn't happen! It's no surprise that a few years ago, when one of my better Principals at one school decided to treat us teachers, on a teacher workday after the students had left, to a showing of Monsters, Inc., t hat many of us teachers expressed admiration for RANDALL, out of all the cast! Most of us, at one time or another, have been in Randall's position, and understand the struggle he was up against. Most of us have worked for Principals and District Superintendents who are the personification of Henry J. Waternoose at one some point in our careers, so we KNOW how that can have a very adverse effect on a person's attitude and behavior, and can turn an otherwise nice, helpful, optimistic individual into a nasty, stressed-out, cynical grouch. Even though a lot of folks seem to think that Randall was always nasty and snappy and hard to get along with, I disagree, and have no trouble imagining him as being capable of being quite pleasant and helpful, when he doesn't have all that stress piled on top of him. People who have never personally experienced what that's like, really can't fathom how much that can change a person for the worst, personality and behavior-wise. pitbulllady

I have no trouble envisioning Randall as a nice, helpful, friendly person either. It was just pure bad luck that he had to end up in such a sticky situation... hopefully life is treating him better now...

Yeah, the same thing happens in school if a kid has a certain type of parent. The one that complains to the school board if anything goes wrong. Even if the kid himself is generally a jerk who asks for bad things to happen all the time. Also, I would expect it would be a tad worse for him on earth. Humans tend to not be hugs and kisses towards other things that can talk. I mean most of us would probably be kind of taken back if something suddenly limped out of the forest and asked for help (provided knowing nothing of him) Sure most, if not all of us, would help him (or at least contact the local authorities) out. Sadly though most of our companions would generally shoot first then ask questions during the autopsy.

Sadly though most of our companions would generally shoot first then ask questions during the autopsy. NO! *bursts into tears* They can't shoot Randall! He's an innocent citizen! WHY WON'T ANYONE UNDERSTAND HIS SITUATION?! *bawls* *sniff* *blows nose* *wipes tear* In all seriousness, though - if Pixar decided to make a sequel to Monsters, Inc. and Randall was killed in it, they would have to expect a very long and angry letter from me. I don't care how much it costs to mail something from Singapore to the States. *pouts*

Pirate king? Not sure who that is... there aren't really many incidents of pirating around here since Singapore has really strict laws. Although I could probably go to China and get THEIR pirate king and do some raids. XD
