Actually, I think Randall would be my closet monster. With his disappearing act, he'd scare the living daylights out of me.

Right... My fears now:
1. I'm not particularly partial to insects, arachnids and such... 2. I have this weird fear of moving escalaters and elevators? I'm not claustrophobic though...
I'm thinking that my monster would be something resembling a hairy Tarantula or a common House Spider... at least some type of insect. I don't know how a monster would look if it was to do with stairs ;D.

You and me are sure polar opposites there; did I mention that I keep over 70 spiders, mostly tarantulas(with a few native true spiders, like oh, Black Widows and such, thrown in), as a hobbyaddiction? I love the darn things! To me, there is simply no cuter animal on the planet than a Jumping Spider, except maybe a baby Boa Constrictor. I guess that's why I never had a "closet monster" as a kid; real living things just didn't scare me, but more abstract things did, like having my house burn down. The nearest thing to a "monster" that scared me was a tall microwave communications tower that was a few miles away, that had this blinking red light(to warn airplanes it was there in the dark)on top, and which my grandmother(whose parents immigrated from Ireland), a treasure trove of Celtic myths and folklore, used to tell me was a monster called "Rawhide and Bloody Bones" that ate bad little kids who would not come in from the yard at night. Yeah, I had a strange childhood, I guess. pitbulllady

Does pedobear count as one ;D XD I've saw some of you spiders on your DA, pitbulllady. While I'm terrified of them, they're so beautiful. I've tried to loose my fear, but I don't know if it's ever going to happy. At least I can admire from afar.

I think the only reason I have a fear of spiders is the thought of them crawling across my skin... just the small kinds of course. I don't have much of a problem with the big kinds, but my closet monster would be nether the less, a tarantula. I myself am a massive fan of reptilian creatures! If I remember correctly, I held a large Python when I was around 4 or 5 years old. I've always dreamed of keeping a Leopard Gecko as a pet, but we've never gotten round to owning one... I'm not concerned though. Just the main thing is looking at their brilliant species.

Bee's I don't have much of a problem with. It's a if I don't bother them, they don't bother me scenario inside my head, although if they do come buzzing around me if I have food or something attractive on, I tend to lash out out them ;D.

What would your closet monster be? Mine would be a giant hornet. Oh man....I am very afraid of hornets/bees/wasps. I've had some fly into my hair before(on more than one occasion). I have a phobia of them. I'm not afraid of a lot of other things people are normally afraid though(like I'm not scared of spiders or anything). Also although I am afraid of hornets/bees/wasps, I don't want them killed. I just don't want them flying at me and getting caught in my hair, that's just freaky. I know they are good for the environment though and so I don't like to destroy their nests or anything. We had a nest under our car port this year and also another one in a different location last year. I just left it alone though and didn't go to close to it. EDIT: By the way....there was one time a number of years back when I had a dream and in the dream I was stung by a wasp or something like that and then when I woke up my arm actually hurt where I had been stung in the dream. It's always weird when that stuff happens.

That thing that sits by Jabba the Hutt is Salaicious B. Crumb. I don't know why but the E.T. story made me laugh, but it did!

I never had a 'monster' as such, I've never been afraid of any animals. I did use to lay awake worrying about a fly laying it's eggs in my ear and the maggots eating my brain. I was also afraid that I would somehow break my spine in my sleep and be paralised for life. (I've always been something of a hyperchondriac, which is odd considering the list of real illnesses I acctually have.)

(I've always been something of a hyperchondriac, which is odd considering the list of real illnesses I acctually have.) Don't want to alarm you, but you DO know that there really are species of botfly that DO lay eggs in animals' nostrils, and then the maggots migrate to the brain and eat it, right? These used to be a big problem here in the Southeastern US until DDT was invented. DDT pretty much eradicated botflies, screw worms(another maggot that eats animals alive), boll weevils and until recently, bed bugs. It's too bad that it nearly eradicated several species of birds of prey at the same time, including our national symbol, the bald eagle, and had to be banned. Now, some of these insects are making a comeback. Back on track, though, I was never afraid of any animals, either, plus didn't have a room with a closet until I was like, 10. Monsters would not have scared me. I was fascinated to the point of obsession with monsters since I was a toddler and would have been very pleased to have met one! Now, those creepy human child dummies that they used in MU to train Scarers would have scared the heck out of me, though, and even now I don't think I'd want to have one of those things in my house. pitbulllady
